Help choosing a setting - Simple but with some bling

I have pretty much settled on a 0.9 ct, I, round brilliant and need a setting that will make it look big and shiny. Her ring size is 5.5.

I think she would like something simple but with a uniqueness to it. I'm getting the diamond from James Allen so would prefer to get everything from one shop.

I've considered the following:

http://www.jamesallen.com/designer-engagement-rings/meno-collection-by-danhov/ring/item_412-4013.asp
- I like the claw prongs on this

http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/settings-with-sidestones/Common-Prong-Engagement-Ring.html
- simple but maybe too much so

http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/pave/White-Gold-2-1mm-French-Cut-Pave-Engagement-Ring.html
- not thrilled with the head

Any suggestions?

JA is also a Vatche dealer and the Vatche Caroline is a beautiful setting!

Thanks for the suggestions.

Spesh, that might be too much bling. I don't want to take too much attention away from the center stone.

jonas, I was hoping for a thinner shank, maybe closer to 2mm.

I'm on a chat with a JA rep right now and they say they are not a Vatche dealer, unfortunately.

He's a noob! JA himself was on here saying they're a rep. Ask them to have someone more experienced call you back!

Ah, so they checked again and said they could do Vatche. Thanks all. This opens up a lot more choices!

I like the Caroline setting but would prefer it without the bar on the basket.

Any other suggestions?

The bar is there for support. If she has no issue with it, as she's the one wearing it I say just leave it be.

This is exactly what I was going to suggest! It's one of my favorite settings. I have the third setting that you linked, and it is very simple and add just a bit of extra bling. It's much more dainty in person than it looks on their site. I had order the smaller version (.01's) at first and it was way to small, so we exchanged it. But your right about the head, there isn't anything pretty about it, and it's funny because just last night I told DH that I never liked the head on it either and wished that it was a cathedral. It looks as though a good knock would bust it off, but I don't believe that is really the case, it's been extremely durable, and there has been no issue with the pave.

I would look into the caroline it's gorgeous!

I called James Allen and Garrett (and his manager) said they are not currently dealing with Vatche. Is there anyway I can get a definitive answer from James himself?

As you saw in the other thread James said they do. I don't know what else to tell you expect to get him on the phone. I'm sorry this has been such a pain. It really shouldn't be that way. :((

Can you tell them you read a post from Jim himself on Pricescope where he says they do? And if they still say no, ask to speak to Jim.

I haven't had an opportunity to call again but this was their response to my e-mail regarding the matter:
I received a copy of your email so that I can clarify the request regarding your interest in purchasing a Vatche design through James Allen. I also had a chance to read over the active thread on Pricescope concerning this topic. I forwarded a link to the thread to Jim so that he is aware of the discussion taking place.

To confirm, Vatche designs are not currently available for purchase through James Allen. Our apologies for the confusion. We are in the process of bringing our sales and customer service team up to speed on exactly what can and cannot be offered should we receive other requests concerning Vatche.

All the best

Edit: Looks like James replied and confirms that they currently do not offer Vatche designs :(

I just wish the staff was more aware of the company's abilities and policies. The inconsistency made me feel uneasy.

Ok so if no vatch from JA, back to the drawing board then. What are you thinking now Reptar?

Vatch from somewhere else or a different in-house JA setting or something else from somewhere else?

I'd feel pretty uneasy too. I gotta say.

Here's what I'd do. I'd get James on the phone and tell him, look you are about to lose a potential sale, can you do a Vatche setting for my diamond?

Hey, things worked out and I was able to get a Caroline Vatche Pave e-ring a couple months ago... Long story short, now we could use some suggestions for a wedding band that complements it! She wants something with small stones but not exactly matching her e-ring.
