Hi Lovely PS'ers!

First of all, I wanna thank you all for educating me about diamonds! For the past weeks, I've been going thru every posts and also checking out all the great diamond pictures you guys posted and man, I'm kinda addicted to it now! Who said diamonds are girls' bestfriends? They are now mine too!

I need some advice regarding this BDG Blue diamond. I've placed this diamond on hold and I only have 24 hours to make up my mind.

I know it's not common for someone to get a strong blue fluorescent stone but I think she will love the tint of blue under UV lights as she mentioned to me way back that she likes "blue" diamond.

I'm no experts with diamond specs and I hope you guys can share your view whether is this diamond an awesome one to get.

Also, my girlfriend's ring finger is size 6 US and I'm thinking to put this stone on a Tapered Tiffany Style Half Round setting. Do you think this stone is a good size for a size 6 finger? Though she's a very simple lady, I don't wanna underwhelm her during the special moment of opening the box!

Any advice will be very appreciated! - Thanks!

Cheers.

I don't think you can go wrong with those BGD blue stones - I think they're pretty awesome. I like your choice of setting too.

Thanks guys for sharing your view!

smartdriver: thanks for the heads up on the discount code! :) Maybe I can use the extra money to get a platinum instead of white gold ring?

With regards to the size, do you think this .866 ct look close to 1 ct?

Also, there are more images/info for this diamond now. Can someone please help me to see if this stone gonna be bright and sparkly?

An ideal cut 1 ct round will be approximately 6.4 mm in diameter. The stone you are looking at is 0.3 mm less than that. It is a very small difference, but if you had the .866 right next to a 1 ct, you could probably see a very slight difference. But unless you're wearing both on the same finger, the .866 will face up like a 1 ct. Also, a diamond that is cut for ideal light performance will be very bright in most lighting environments, which tends to make it appear a bit larger than the same size poorly cut stone.

Yes, it will be bright and sparkly. It's graded ideal for light performance, it's an AGS 000, what is sometimes called "super ideal." It will be a show stopper.
