So i decided to not try the H-color cushion from ERD. I think i will wait on a G or an F (F--if the price is right). (Old post refer here: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/help-on-this-square-cushion-fr-erd.90288/)

I found a 1.63 G VS2 on JamesAllen.com that is looks pretty good with the 8-pavilion main I wanted... roughly same dimensions as the one on ERD.

By the way, Gary is trying to located additional stones at ERD for me.

Anyways, please let me know what you think of this stone. I talked with a Gemologist at JA, and they said this stone has "plenty of life". And, my question was mainly about the feather and girdle thickness as you can see. Feather looks a concern to me, but they said that it is not on the corner and more prevalent on the report than on the actual stone.

Please advise: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamond.asp?find=1&cid=130&item=1180174

I have the stone on hold, so I''ll need to make a decision quite soon!

How do you paste a link instead of cut/paste the URL?

GIA Report... notice the feather (up close--on the report it does not look like the feather goes all the way to the edge... however, the pavilion side--it looks to go through... unless that''s a different feather?)

I posted this earlier today for a different user, I''ll copy it here for you as well.

If you use the link icon, the top box is for the URL of the page you''d like to link to, the bottom box is what will be underlined and showing in the post.

Example. I want to link to Pricescope''s main page of the website but I don''t want the URL to display as it does in your post above. Instead I want Pricescope to show up as an underlined link as it does in this sentence. In the link icon screen it would look like this, hope this helps clarify:

My concern with the JA stone would be the symmetry. Maybe the photo was taken at an angle, but the GIA cert says it has "Good" symmetry, and something looks a little wonky. If you can hold out a bit longer, I think ERD could find you something with at least VG symmetry in the color range that you''re after. On an antique style cushion, the "Good" symmetry rating wouldn''t bother me as much, but I think there must be more of the moderns out there with VG symmetry or better. Have you asked Jon at Good Old Gold if he has any 8 pavilion main "modern" cushions in your spec range?

Both rocks should be quite nice from what I can tell. The one from James Allen, will be similar to Mistiqkal's and my rock. We have the same 8 pavillion cut. If it's anything like my rock, it will have lots of fire and contrast.

GOG did a video of my rock (1.57 F VS1):

James Allen also has another rock (1.62 E VS2):
Diamond

Either selection will be good in my opinion. ERD is known to find excellent rocks. The James Allen rock, should be cut the same as mine, so I suspect it should have lots of life.

Good luck.

i think that the link dc888 sent you from JA would be a prettier diamond... it has ex polish/ex symmetry...

Ditto. That looks like it could be a nice stone. See if James Allen can have someone inspect that one for performance.

So, I put the stone that dc888 recommended (WHICH I DIDN''T SEE) when i was looking... probably too much filtering (not selected anything above "F")

What do you guys think of the feather though? It looks to be in a possible prong location, so i''m a little worried. However, it''s a VS2??

A feather in a VS2 should not pose a risk but I would ask JA to inspect and make sure that it does not affect the structural integrity of the stone :)
