Hi all. I am trying to help a friend find a princess cut but unfortunately I don''t know much about them, ie ideal table/depth etc. He wants to be able to choose b/w a range of diamonds from 1.5-1.9 carats, F-H color and no less than VS2 for clarity. His budget is anywhere between 10-15k. Can someone please help and point us in the right direction??

Hi EF,

I would look at hand selected GIA Princess and AGS0/ AGS1 from the trusted PS vendors, here are some suggestions

Thanks Lorelei - some of these look like they may do the trick!!

Also I know they are harder to find but are there any with a lower color in the 1.7-1.9 carat range so I can give him a few choices? I see that a lot of these have table/depth in the high 60''s up to the mid-70''s - is that a problem?

No not a problem at all, the spread of fancy shapes is not so dependant on depth as with rounds. How much lower do you mean for colour, I and J?

The one SC posted is the only one showing up right now on a search for lower colour for top cut Princess.

If you would like some more options if Jstar is around later ( she has a great eye for a Princess) then we can find some more for you.

Thanks again for your help Lorelei!! I will present these to him and see what he thinks. Good to know about the princesses table/depth - I know he just didn't want it to have deadspots or be small for its carat weight.

Most welcome, just shout if you need any more help!

There are various proportion configurations with Princess which can result in a beautiful stone, so really hand selected in house stones with the images provided is a good way to search.
