Hi everyone!!

I''m glad to say that I am a lurker no more.

Okay after weeks of lurking and surfing the web, I''m very glad to have found this web site. I must say that is has been very informative.

My situation: I just recently purchased a pair of loose diamonds from Blue Nile as a gift for my self for graduating from nursing school. I''ll probably receive the earrings this Friday. But because of the price for these duds I''m having a little bit of post-purchase anxiety/nervousness whatever you guys want to call it. They are gonna be set on 18k martini settings. Here''s the link for that stones:

The only thing I''m freaking out about are the inclusions. I dont want to open the box and be horrified. Anyways, do you guys think I paid too much ( I mean i just graduated so I''m not makeing money yet) and are the stones worth it (specially with the inclusions)

Thanks so much in advance for the inputs.

Hello and Welcome to PS!!!

Congrats on graduating nursing school!!! What an accomplishment (I am an RN as well so I understand how difficult it is)!!!! I think you picked a fab gift for yourself......and you most certainly derserve it!!! As far as the stones themselves, did you speak to anyone at BN about them (e.g asking if the diamonds are eye-clean or not). Regardless, I am sure you can get the stones and inspect them in person and see if they are to your liking. If not, you can always return them for a full refund...I think BN has a good return policy....

Best of luck!!!!!

Dani,

Thanks so much. I didnt talk to anyone at blue nile about it. But I guess you're right, if I'm not 100% happy I can always return them.

And I'm so happy that someone recognizes how hard nursing school could be. Whenever I tell someone that I'm in nursing school and they shrug it off and say "its just nursing, how hard can it be" I want to throw all my Med Surg books at them.

Just Kidding, I'm no that violent.

It looks like the diamonds are ideal cuts, so no problems there. And it looks like pricing is right in line with a .63 ct. I saw on GoodOldGold.com. I have an SI1 diamond, and I am very happy with it.

I bought an emerald cut diamond last year from Blue Nile and was very pleased with it, too. An appraiser confirmed that it was a good stone. Welcome and congratulations!

LOL....You are so not kidding!!! I have gotten comments like that too before....Unfotunatey, there are some people out there that thing a nurse's job is to fluff pillows, give bedpans, and just be there to "serve." But, honestly, you will have more people (patients) that will recognize what you do as being extremely important and appreciate everything you do for them. Dont worry....you have everything to be proud of!!!! Nursing is a wonderful, rewarding profession that needs more great people. Where do you want to work, btw? Do you have a job yet?

Make sure to post pics of your new earrings when you get them! I am considering buying a pair in a few mths too...I am turning "the big 3-0", so I need something to mark the occasion!!! Ha!!!
