Hello,

My name is Kimmy and I am new to this forum.

I LOVE diamonds and also GEMS!!!!!

I am engaged to an amazing man and looking for the perfect band!

I am also obsessed with celebrities and their jewelry, I mean lets face it they have the best collections, right girls
: )

Any suggestions on where I should look for a ring would be appreciated. I want to feel like I have the rock and wedding of a celebrity.

I live and play in LA ; )

Welcome Kimmy,

For all things wedding related, I recommend the Bride World Wide forum which is all about wedding planning and filled with joyous brides to be.

To find a wedding band, perhaps browsing through the Show Me The Ring forum will give you some good ideas, and many posters include which vendor their rings are from. You can always throw out a request like "show me your 3mm eternity bands" and folks will respond with pictures and info.

Different vendors specialize in different styles and materials, so it really depends on what you're looking for.

The folks on rocky talky are also kind and helpful for all sorts of vendor related questions.

Cheers,
HD

Hi Kimmy.
Welcome.

To get the most for your money I recommend you learn as much as possible about diamonds before buying.
A great place to start is right here.

Scroll up to the top of this screen and click on KNOWLEDGE.
Then select, ADVANCED TUTORIAL.

Read every page. It will take a while.
When questions come up post them here.

Good cut is what makes a diamond give off a beautiful light show, not higher clarity or color.
When it comes to clarity and color go out to see as many diamonds as you can in person (preferably loose diamonds) to find your own color and clarity comfort zone.

Good luck.
Take your time.

I echo moh on arming yourself with knowledge!

Here are some great jewelers in your area. You can do a search of their names on here, and see what you think.

Singlestone (their link is not working at the moment)

Maytal Hannah

23rd Street Jewelers

Joe Escobar

Bridget Durnell (I don''t have a web address, she''s in Palos Verdes)

Thritto Moh, start reading and have fun - welcome!

Thank you for the warm welcome and all the advice.

I am looking for a ring today, in Studio City and Beverly Hills, I want something magnificent. I do not think my finance Alex knows what he is getting himself into ; )

Any advice on shops I should visit would be appreciated, I already have a couple in mind.

Maybe if Coatimundi sees this and Tgal, they are both in LA, they might have some good places to suggest. Have fun!!

Lorelei,

Thanks for the suggestions, I do not know who these members are though, I am new : (

Any last suggestions, where I should go, what kind of ring I should get cut color and so on? I love large sparkling diamonds, I think I want a round cut.

I am off to have fun hopefully...
