What do the inconsistent whites on the edges mean? What causes it?

Where is the light source? Could be if it''s not directly and I mean directly overhead of this stone (centered) under the light, you will have these white spots light up. They are reflections of some facets that are lighting up ununiformly. They are however equally there around the stone. You''re just not seeing them. If this helps, you''ve been reading too many of Ira''s posts.

I think I just confused myself.

Dont mean anything.

They usually come from the upper girdle facets.
They may not be evenly spread if the table of the diamond is slightly tilted.
They hold little or no relevance to the appearance of the diamond

ah well...that was a bust.

anyone want to read my tea leaves?

Picture of a face down diamond. I happen to think the inconsistency looks pretty through the H&A view, like a stained glass window.

I sure hope it''s not caused by table tilt. Nothing worse than a lopsided table
