Hearts and Arrows

I have read that most ideal cut diamonds exhibit a hearts and arrows pattern....is this true?? and If so what are the cutting angles necessary for this phenomenom?

I can tell you from personal experience, after having look at many AGS Ideal Cuts and even now the GIA Excellent cuts, that many, many of them are not Hearts and Arrow. Some may display an arrows pattern, fewer still will display some sort of hearts pattern, but not true H&A. Just because a diamond has an ideal cut, by no means does that indicate that the stone will definitely have a H&A pattern.
