First off, NO WE DID NOT BREAK UP. Phew! And second, I would like to apologize if my post seems to traill off and get off-topic in places.
So here''s the scoop:
Monday rolls around and since I worked a double shift this past weekend I had the day off. I was going to go have lunch with my friend and maybe check out the sales at Field''s downtown. Whoo hoo! I was just getting out of the shower when I heard our answering machine pick up. Didn''t mind what the message was saying. In all honesty, It usually takes me an hr to get dressed and with Martha Stewart live on, even longer. She''s so crafty. Now it''s about noon, and I''m running late. Went to call my friend to tell her I''m late and I''ll be there soon and I noticed the missed calls. The number was an Ohio Number, and the guy said he was in Rochester with a trailer and would be here in about an hr or so. Very strange? Perhaps it was a guy dropping a car off for J to work on? That was left on the machine at 10:30. I listened to it at 12. Hmm, whatever, I figured it was someone for J, and that was that. I no more walked 3 feet towards the garage when I see someone coming up our drive. Now I started freaking out a little, no one stops by here at 12 on a monday, and what is this guy with a trailer doing? Where''s Jeremy? What the freak is going on?? So I try calling J on my cell i''d say a good 10 times. No answer. By this time the guy had pulled around to our second garage and is parked. I could hear his big diesel truck still running. (I have to add, when we built this home we had to make sure we had a 2nd heated building. J is an amazing car enthusiast and has an extensive car collection. He likes to painstakingly take apart old muscle cars, rebuild them, put them back together and have them all finished. He started a shop a while back that consisted of himself, his dad and 3 of his buddies and that has bloomed into his "baby.") From the window in the gargage I see J''s truck coming up the drive (thank god) and so I feel a little relief. At least this guy won''t be breaking in to anything! Instinctivly I went straight down to see what''s going on. J was surprised to see me home, he thought I was working and forgot I had the day off. There was this sort of wierd vibe from him... the older guy seemed very nice. He introduced himself, yada yada yada, said he was very excited to see the car (?) yada yada yada, and since I was VERY late for my lunch date had to run, but it was nice meeting him. J said he''d call later, and to have a fab day. A fab day??? What?? Who says that? I didn''t even get the courtesy of a smooch! Oh well, business is business and maybe he was running late too. So, I have a pretty good day, bought some sheets I''ve been dying to get, found some cute summer shoes on sale! And got back home around 6-ish. J''s usually home around then, unless he''s waiting on parts or whatever. Nope, no-one''s home. I still had no idea what Ohio guy was doing out at our house, usually drop off''s are at the shop where they do all the resto/rebuilding work. there''s more than enough area for vehicles to be stored safely. Curiosity got the best of me and I wanted to see what was in the shed.
OH MY GOSH!! I couldn''t believe what I saw, or should I say didn''t see. My all time favorite car was gone. MY ALL TIME FAVORITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in shock, i still am in shock. I was bawling. That car was my favorite favorite favorite car, I am in no way shape or form a moto-head. I do not like loud noisy cars, and fast ones scare me, but that car.........it was beautiful! And I know how hard J worked on it. It was the only car I would ride in to go to the car shows (car craft.) I am still heartbroken!! I called my mom and told her what had happened. She calmed me down and gave me the "it was only a car" speech. She said that maybe he decided to start something new, or expand the shop, you know how guys are. I just couldn''t believe that he would make such a decision without even telling me first! It''s not like we are in need of money, or the space in the garage?? So after whining, and pouting and moaning to my mother, my best friend, and my brother (bless his heart) I have decided to just keep my mouth shut and be ok with his decision, after all, it''s his car. In my brother''s words "just be glad he didn''t sell me off to some guy from Ohio!" lol!
I just can''t help but feel very sad about it all. That car was awesome....
