Heart shaped diamond

I have been talking with my future mother-in-law about diamonds lately explaining what I have learned on Pricescope. She got out her GIA certification last night for her heart shaped diamond and asked me to explain it as she didn''t understand it. Well, I don''t understand much of it either! I have read about proper proportions for rounds, but not hearts. I was wondering if the experts here could explain what the information means as well as whether she got a good deal or not. Thanks!

She bought her diamond from Costco in 2001 for 5480.

It is a 1.01 heart shape
6.55 x 6.71 x 4.05
Depth: 60.4%
Table: 53%
Girdle: Medium to slightly thick, faceted
Culet: None
Finish:
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Good
Clarity: VS1
Color: F
Flouresence: None

It''s really impossible to tell much on fancy cuts with just numbers. What very little I can say, is that the depth and table look good, as does everything else. I see no red flags.

But honestly, at this point, I''d just tell her to enjoy it, I''m sure it''s lovely!

Ditto Ellen, hearts are really tricky and can vary in shape tremendously, they really need to be seen to be sure of which type appeals to the buyer. Sounds like your MIL picked one she loved!

Culet is the pointy bottom of the stone, none means that it is pointed. Polish is just that, polish of the surface of the stone''s facets, how smooth that is.
