I couldn't sleep at this hour (1 am), so I got up for some ebay. 15 mintures later, I have found this ad http://cgi.ebay.com/1-46-CTS-NATURAL-G-COLOR-HEART-DIAMOND-WITH-CERTIFICATE_W0QQitemZ320313143496QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item320313143496&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1326%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

I don't know anything about heart shape diamond, so I wondered can anyone tell me what kind of cut are for the heart shape diamonds? Because this 1.46 ct. Princess cut heart shape diamond just sounds weird to me. Thank you.

I don't see any well known lab report mentioned and the buyer has no feedback. I would pass personally, do a search on Ebay to read of other's purchase experiences. If you want a heart shape, then contact Jon at GOG - whom I know has sold a fab heart in the past, or one of the other vendors to see what they can find for you.

Me too. A stone is either cut to a Princess, or a heart.

Here''s a heart.

The item in the photo doesn’t even look like a diamond to me. Check out the pavilion side facet junctions.

Hmm. Let me count the red flags:

$10 starting bid.
zero feedback seller.
Chinese address
registered last week
No lab
Laughably vague description
3 day listing
BS photo

It’s hard to imagine a less likely purchase but then I checked the sellers other items. Look at this one: A 5.08ct purple diamond for only $9.99! And there's a discount if you buy more than one.

The sad thing is that some of these auctions actually have bids.

I agree with Neil, it doesn''t look like a diamond to me either! And no feedback, registered in China (I am not saying anything bad about the Chinese, but there are many ebay scam artists who are registered in China)...too many red flags to count.

I''m guessing the "princess" part was a mistake and the lister was careless. However, I wouldn''t buy from them either. They have no feedback and this is an odd item to be listing for your first sale.

They also have an emerald listed as a princess...

I''d run from that as well. Besides, there is nothing worse than a listing full of typos and grammatical errors. Chinese or not, you''d think they would at least proofread if they''re going to be posting on an English speaking site! LOL

(pet peeve, sorry)

Doesn't look like a diamond to me either--look at those rough facet junctions. The wording of the listing is the least of my concerns with this stone!

oh my goodness! What in the world!???? These listings are amusing to say the least

It sure seems like there should be something that ebay could do about this sort of nonsense. The seller now has 17 sold items for a total of more than a thousand dollars with 5 auctions yet to close. Dollars to donuts nothing of value will be received by anyone and that a few weeks from now, right when buyers start to complain and register disputes, this seller’s paypal account will mysteriously be drained of all funds and the owner will disappear with the money, only to reappear later with a new alias. People who funded paypal with a credit card will be able to file a dispute there and get their money back that way but folks who funded paypal using their default bank account method are going to be at the mercy of Paypal and are going to get screwed unless they both quickly recognize that they’ve been had and can navigate the ‘buyer protection’ program properly. After a whole bunch of headaches for the buyers who thought they were getting a bargain, the biggest losers are Paypal/eBay stockholders. Its' no wonder their stock's in the toilet and they’re laying off employees. This is corporate evolution in action.

Neil, as usual we get so much info from your posts. Its always so educational to read what you write.

Now, that would explain why Paypal just about jumps out of the computer and tries to bitch slap me when I choose the credit card payment option. Seriously, it comes up with about 6 really stupid reasons that I should choose to debit my bank account instead!!!!!

Neil - While I agree with your comments on eBay, I just want to point out that right now, unfortunately, just about everyone''s stock is in the toilet!
