So about a month ago a bunch of us did the 7 day detox diet miracle, but we shortened it to 5 days. We're doing it again starting tomorrow (or if you are in the East Coast, today!) aka Monday AM!
36.gif

So here's a thread for support, recipes, or whatever else. Anyone who would like to join us, please just chime in!

Monarch posted this in our last thread as a descriptor of the 5 day plan, so I am copying and pasting it here.

"The diet is five days to "detox" from processed foods, dairy, meat products, and alcohol. It is an attempt to detoxify our systems from chemicals used in food processing, and kind of get back to a more natural way of eating. Please see the past few workout threads for more info! We thought we'd start this thread as an alternative to the workout thread, so as not to "clutter up" that thread with our own endeavors.

Basically the "diet" consists of eating fresh fruits, veggies, and brown rice or rice products, and excluding processed foods, dairy, meat, etc. from the diet for several days. We have discussed it and kind of adapted it to mainly eating fresh fruits and veggies, as well as rice for 5 days...veggies and rice to be prepared in a minimal amount of EVOO )extra virgin olive oil) and spices with the exception of salt, etc. The idea behind it is to see how our bodies respond to a more natural diet, along with moderate exercise. A "healthier" lifestyle, without processed "extras," if you will."

Last time we did it, it worked out quite nicely...I found that I lost a few lbs of weight, but still had a lot of energy from the fruits and also the brown rice and similar. I adapted it to add things like nuts, fresh granola, and things that were not processed but still good for you. I also ate wheat like wheat pasta and similar. I have seen adaptations where you can eat fish but I did not do that this last time and won't this time either. You can also have soy products so I replaced my milks with soy and found I liked it just as much. I also entirely cut out sugar in my coffee last time and I have stuck with it!!

Tomorrow morning my breakfast is going to be Honey Puffed Kashi with soy milk and chopped banana or nectarine; lunch will most likely be wheat pita and garlic hummus and dinner I still have yet to plan but I'd like to try something like a crock pot minestrone or similar. We had dinner at home tonite where I made us turkey tenderloins and horseradish mashed potatoes (like a last supper!) and so I'd like for tomorrow night's dinner to be pretty easy!

So here is to a GREAT week for all of us...!!! 5 days...it's not so bad!

Good morning, thanks for starting the thread Mara!
35.gif

I began my detox this morning with a breakfast of canteloupe and coffee (that will be my only caffeine for the day though.) Last night DH and I went to Trader Joe''s and got lots of good stuff, including some Jasmine rice I''m very excited to try. I actually had it at a restaurant (not the TJ''s brand, but same variety of rice) on Saturday evening, and it was soooo good. It''s much better, to me, than the basmati I ate last time we did this detox.

Tonight we are having dinner with DH''s parents for his dad''s b-day...I will be ordering a veggie plate, I''m sure!

I think water is a really important part of this detox also--I''m going to shoot for 64 oz. today...I read an article not too long ago on how much water you should be consuming in relation to your body weight, I will see if I can dig that up. (64 oz. is your standard 8 servings of 8 oz. of water throughout one day--that''s how I came up with that number, lol).

Good luck everyone with the detox!

Just popping in to wish you luck gals!

hum, guess i was out of the loop. didn''t know about the detox till this morning and i had nothing proper to eat. so this evening i think i''ll head to the market for some fresh goodies. FI is working nights this week, so we''ll see how that affects things. i know usually when he''s gone i don''t do to much in the cooking department. and end up losing weight. haha. we''ll see. i do have great rice left over from the last detox. we bought it at the end of the program and never got a chance to eat it all.

Good Morning fellow detoxees:

I just got back from my morning walk and I am excited about seeing how I will feel during, and after these five days are over. I had canteloupe, melon and coffee (that's the only caffeine for me too!) for breakfast and I will have salad for lunch.
I went shopping on the weekend and stocked my fridge with lots of fruits and veggies. I also picked up some brown rice and some mixed dry beans which I soaked overnight and will be using to make a bean soup later this afternoon! I will post the recipe if anyone is interested!

I hope everyone has a great day! Thanks for the well wishes Lorelei!

hi gals! sorry jcrow, we mentioned it a few times in the WWT so i was hoping most people saw it...but it''s good you saw this today so that you can jump right in!

for breakfast i had honey puffed kashi and banana...and then a bit of coffee with my soy milk. still mulling it over about dinner but i haven''t had a chance to see what sounds good. my girlfriend at work who is veggie gave me this awesome cookbook to check into recipes and there was a yummy looking garden veggie kinda soup thing so maybe i will try that if it sounds not too detailed. also this week is TTOTM, probably starting tomorrow, so i have to try to keep my iron intake up and all that so i don''t get too tired.

go detoxers....sounds like everyone is right on track (and tonite jcrow will be too!). lucky for us veggies and fruits are still very much in season, what will we do in winter when we do this?!?!?! lots of beans. hehee.

ha mara, we must be on the same schedule- if you know what i mean!

well, that''s what i get for not working out and thus checking out the WWT. though, i did go this morning. i NEED to get back on the ball! wedding is AROUND the corner and i''ve got to do all i can to fight the flab and tone up for the big weekend!

so, yes- i''m glad i caught this thread! i need to stock up tonight
9.gif

checking in!! how is everyone else doing?????

my day...i had hummus and whole wheat pita for lunch...yum. then i went to work out and did 50 minutes on the treadmill at incline of 9-10. woo hoo.

came home and had a snack of 1/2 cup honey puffed kashi with 1/4 cup soy milk and 1/2 a nectarine.

dinner is going to be vegetable paella from this cookbook my friend lent me, the picture looks mouth watering! it has saffron and long grain rice (i'm using brown of course), tomatoes, mushrooms, peas and snow peas and veggie broth. i am pairing with a fresh loaf of california multi-grain bread. should be good!

hope everyone else is doing wonderful! where is that beret wearing roach girl...she should be in here too!!

OH and random side note, i weighed myself at the gym and i was 144! i was surprised since the last time i weighed myself last week i was 147 and i had kind of been 147 consistently since last detox. so not sure what i did differently (we ate all weekend at the wedding too!) but i lost 3 lbs. so anyway we'll see what i'm like at the end of this week.

*Sniff*, I did not have a perfectly detoxed day.
7.gif
I went to dinner with DH and his parents for his dad's b-day tonight, and I couldn't find anything on the menu besides spinach ravioli which appealed to me at all. I guess I could've asked them to make me a veggie plate, but his dad always questions me on my vegetarianism anyway and I didn't feel like answering questions tonight. Weak, I know. Anyway, I had a little of that, some green salad with house vinaigrette, and a glass of Pinot Grigio--so NOT detox! Ah well, you win some, you lose some, right?

For lunch I just had some TJ hummus and pita chips, for an after-work snack a sliced homegrown tomato and some sliced cucumber w/ about a tablespoon of hummus, so I feel good about 3/4 of my day, anyway. Better luck tomorrow, and the rest of the week we have no dinner plans with anyone so I think I'm home free now. Tomorrow is predicted to be the last nice day of the week here weather-wise, so I think I will take advantage and go for a nice long/brisk walk. Wednesday night is kickboxing class at my gym and it is supposed to be chilly, so I will be grateful for an indoor workout.

Where are all the detoxers??? Mara, am I totally clueless--who is the "roach" girl?

ETA: DUH! Travelingirl, where the heck are you? I can't believe I didn't "get" that description, LOL!

I am off to bed shortly but just wanted to say that I made it through day 1 AOK. I was quite hungry earlier this evening but I drank more water and it passed. I don't think I ate enough today so I am feeling rather headachy. I spent so much time making my bean soup that my lunch ended up being some steamed greens and a handful of unsalted pumpkin, almond and sunflower seeds. Supper was bean soup, which although good, will be better tomorrow after it has thickened.

Mara, your supper sounds so yummy! Tomorrow I will definitely plan my lunch better! I didn't know I could have bread, so I will buy something healthy to go with my soup tomorrow.....and a big kudos on the four extra pounds Mara!!!!
36.gif
It is especially great when it's unexpected!

Monarch & JCrow - I hope you are both faring well too!
35.gif

ETA: Oops, I just noticed your post now Monarch! Don't be too hard on yourself.....when you go out for dinner it is very hard to be perfectly good. Tomorrow is another day and you will be back on track.

lol monnie on not getting TG as the roach girl. she''s been a bit absent in the last few days, wonder where she''s gone. she mentioned she was trying to stick with the detox thing since last time so i wonder how she''s been doing with that.

anyway, i am making my paella and it''s taking forever! i''m starving. it smells yummy though. anyway heather on the bread...that is part of my ''adapted'' version of the detox. i figure since it''s just supposed to be eating non-processed stuffs and no meat and dairy as the big things that having fresh multigrain wheat bread is healthy!! plus the recipe called for serving the paella with it and i knew greg would be like where''s the bread! so this is the compromise. hehee. i had a corner to eat right now since i was starving and it was REALLY yummy. nutty. and i''m SO tempted to put a tiny bit of butter on it heehehe. TTOTM is making me edgy!

the bean soup sounds yummy heather!! i think i am going to try something like that later this week.

don''t feel bad monarch about dinner...it''s hard when you go out and are confronted with limited options. we are going out on wed night, since we are meeting a friend of greg''s who is in from england for drinks and so greg said lets grab dinner in PA and then meet them. so i am thinking where we can go that is healthy and fresh..i think we might go to this noodle bar that has some yummy lemongrass soup with noodles..typically it has chicken in it but i can ask them to omit it and just put veggies. i know they use all pretty healthy stuff and i think the noodles are rice. anyway i hope i can stick to it that night!!! one sneaky cocktail afterwards won''t hurt too much, right? hehee.

jcrow did you hit up the market tonite? we have watermelon for dessert in the fridge, or i can have a banana. but after the paella hopefully i will be stuffed. hope everyone has a great night!! and heather make sure to remember to eat enough...you don''t want to shock your body or anything...hehee.

Mara, quick substitute for butter on your bread=eevo and fresh sauteed minced garlic--yum! Just a wee bit, and you could still be in the realm of "detox-friendly," I think. DH loves to dip Italian bread in oil with parm. cheese at restaurants, and we''ve coated big portabella mushroom caps in the olive oil/garlic for a fantastic marinade before grilling, so I think that could be a possibility if you want a little somethin'' somethin'' on your whole grain wheat bread w/ dinner sometimes, esp. during the detox.

I got some ciabatta (sp?) bread from TJ''s yesterday, which I''m dying to try with veggies tomorrow as a rice substitute in case I don''t feel like making rice (don''t have a rice cooker so I have to rely on the stovetop method for my jasmine rice)...do you think that would be detox friendly? If not, I will totally abstain...I have a feeling without even looking at the ingredients that it''s not. Wouldn''t you know DH had a very generous helping of pita chips and they are all gone, so I can''t satisfy my carb craving with them tomorrow (not that they were totally detox friendly anyway, lol!) I may have to go back to TJ''s tomorrow to get some carrots and make some crock pot stew with anyway...we have a bag of new red potatoes as well as some little Yukon gold''s that I would love to make a little stew with (add in some celery, fresh green beans, bell peppers, etc.) so maybe those starches would satisfy me...

OK, done with detox for the night--I''m on lemon water for the remainder of my relaxing time here on PS, hee hee.
9.gif

hehe well i succumbed to the butter craving but i only had a TINY bit, not even a pat of butter, just enough to melt a bit on the bread and that was it. the paella was AWESOME even though the rice took literally 1.25 hours to cook! i always forget that brown rice takes longer to cook. it was very flavorful because of the veggie broth and the saffron made it super yummy. we have leftovers so we''ll have it for dinner tomorrow night too. and more bread, yum! i LOVE dark brown bread. it''s so tasty. and good for you!

monarch, the ciabetta...is that a bleached flour bread? if so, i wouldn''t do it BUT since you have it you don''t want it to go to waste...hehee. plus i just ate butter so....tough decision! hehe. i love bread and i feel so much better about eating it when it''s dark and wheat and not bleached white because then it''s just like a dense calorie hog. also you should try the whole wheat pita at TJ''s...i got it last week in leiu of the yummy middle eastern flatbread i typically get and it''s much better for me (whole wheat pita) and it''s quite tasty with the hummus. plus then it''d be detox adapted friendly. hehee.

stew sounds great for tomorrow! you could also add some navy beans or similar for some extra fiber. hehe.

I''m not even going to look at the ciabetta/ciabatta bread for nutitional info and just assume it''s not on plan...I had pasta tonight as well as pita chips so that should be enough to tide me over for the week as far as flour products
20.gif
. Anyway, I think I have black beans and chickpeas and pinto beans (ew) in the pantry so I will see what I can do with those and stew tomorrow...

Or maybe I will just resign myself to cooking my jasmine rice (which I''m actually super psyched about) with veggies tomorrow...we got some baby bella little cutie button mushrooms at TJ''s also and I''m dying to make them with something, he hee...

Oh, btw, I had a totally detox friendly veggie plate at the restaurant we went to Saturday night (it was a steak/rib place, so I was pleasantly surprised--they even had veggie burgers on the menu)...anyway, the plate consisted of mildly seasoned jasmine rice, vertically-sliced/sauteed zucchini, about a half a head of steamed broccoli, and a side of this cold veggie medley which was described as a "giardiniere" with some type of cold pesto/seasoning that was tdf. I ate half there and took half home and ate that Sunday for lunch. I wish I would''ve saved it for tonight''s dinner, lol! The cold "giardiniere" was some sort of Italian coleslaw, I think...the oil and vinegar version, with lots of spices--none of which I could pinpoint, but if I were forced I would say there was some rosemary/garlic/thyme/onion in it...it consisted of julienned zuc., yellow squash, carrots, and maybe some other veggie that grows underground? I don''t know, but it was fab. There is so much you can do with veggies, for this detox thing, the options aren''t really that limited if you want to experiment with EVOO and spices, especially.

Mara, please share your paella recipe...I''m intrigued!

Good Morning Ladies!

Another beautiful sunny day so outside I go for some exercise!

I had my fruit breakfast again but this time with a slice of whole wheat toast, which really helped me feel fuller! I will have my bean soup for lunch and then for supper, I am not sure yet.....

I hope you all have a great day!

Monarch here is the paella recipe. It''s from Linda''s Kitchen, a veggie recipe book that my friend swears by.

It''s called Best Vegetarian Paella.
Serves 4-6

2tsp margarine (obviously I did not use any for the detox!)
2 tsp veg oil
1 large mild onion, chopped
2c long grain rice (i used brown rice)
3 3/4c veggie stock
1/8tsp saffron strands, soaked in a little stock
4 cloves garlic, chopped
1c frozen green peas, thawed (we don''t like these so we didn''t use them..hehe)
2 canned pimmentos, chopped OR 1 large fresh red bell pepper, skinned/peeled, chopped
6 oz button mushrooms, quartered
4 large tomatoes, peeled/skinned, chopped (fresh or canned...obviously i used canned, peeling a tomato? no thanks!)
8 oz cooked or canned artichoke bottoms or hearts, halved
6 oz snow peans, steamed and sliced diagonally (we forwent the slicing diagonally)
1/2c sliced canned water chestnuts
salt and pepper for serving
grated cheese for serving (only greg got cheese...wah!)

Heat oil (and nonexistent margarine) in large pan or wok. Add the chopped onion and cook over gentle heat until soft and translucent, about 10 min. Add the rice and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for a few minutes. Then begin to add the stock, a bit at a time, and simmer until it is absorbed. After about 10 minutes (NOTE...Brown rice takes FOREVER to cook. It took literally about 1.25 hours for the rice to soak up all the stock AND brown rice uses more liquid to cook so I ended up using about 5.5 cups of veggie stock, not 3.75 as the original non brown rice recipe calls for. Just an FYI) add the saffron and garlic. Cook for another 5 min or so (or 50 ..hehe) until the rice is tender. Stir in the rest of the ingredients, and cook til heated through, stirring constantly. Check seasoning. Serve with cheese on top and fresh warm bread.

It has a ton of flavor from the veggie stock and the saffron and the artichoke hearts add some great flavor as well. I just cooked the rice for what felt like forever then tossed in the other stuff. I got mostly canned stuff so that I didn''t have to deal with peeling tomatoes etc. So it was pretty easy actually. We have leftovers for dinner tonite.

Eating my breakfast this morning, with nectarines this time. Lunch is more hummus and wheat pita! Dinner is the leftover paella. Hope everyone is doing well out there!!! Have a wonderful day!

i''m here. last night i did go to the grocery. picked up lots of fruits and veggies and more soy milk since the one at home needed replacing. but, i didn''t have a great detox day, or night. so i started today. had a banana and peanut butter, then went work out. tonight i think we''ll have broccelli (i never spell that right) and califlower and maybe some new potatoes for starch. mum.

Well......day two is coming to a close and I feel better than yesterday....mainly because I ate more I think. I had bean soup for lunch, banana for snack, and a bit of fish (mahi mahi) for supper with my two corn on the cobs and a small slice of organic nut bread

I find it hard because I continue to prepare yummy dinners for my DH and DS that I can''t eat!!!!
39.gif
BUT I will survive!!!!

How is everyone else making it through the day?

heather why dont you have DH and DS eat what you eat? what''s so wrong with eating veggies and rice?!?! you are a saint to prepare them separate meals ..... hehe. you go girl!

my day today is going well, ate my cereal for breakfast and had my hummus and wheat pita for lunch. then i had a snack of cereal with banana and soy milk. dinner will be the leftovers from last nite.

but MAN i have been craving all sorts of things that are NOT on the detox list!!! hehee. trying to be strong!

on a random note i had to dress up for a client today and i tried on a bunch of my old suit pants and stuff and nothing FITS. it''s all way too big!!! and some things TOTALLY are too big aka falling off too big. now i have to get a bunch of stuff fitted and rehemmed etc!! argh! but a good note i guess that my old stuff doesn''t really fit me eh? i didn''t realize i''d lost that much weight on the bottom. hmm.

Well they do eat the veggies but they love meat (just like me) and my son loves his pasta (and he''s a growing boy) so I make it for both of them. I also made them yummy chicken drumsticks and heated up some left over steak!!! It smelled so good!!!!

I can''t help myself.......
17.gif
2.gif

oh my gosh tonite was really hard!!!! i am having cravings something horrible. during my workout class i was just thinking of CHICKEN POT PIE. i almost capitulated!!!!! i wasn''t feeling like having paella tonite, i don''t know why....so i was going to just have cereal...but then i smelled the paella and i figured i''d go for it. it was YUMMY even better than last nite since it had time to sit in the fridge. so i''m glad that i went for it. of course i had 2 super thin pieces of bread too and TINY amount of butter...hehee. i figure i''ll mash a banana with some PB for a bit of ''dessert''. even though i really want a huge chocolate sundae. WAH.

mara, too late for me to start now...i have a crazy rest of the week ahead and no time to go grocery shopping. but i''d like to join in next time around, and i''ll enjoy checking in on your success this time around. good luck ladies! this is great what you''re doing, and i''m sure that you will all enjoy the results.

Orangevixen - thanks for the good luck! It will be great to have more people next time....it helps to know there are others out there doing the same thing!

Mara good for you to make it through all those cravings without caving in!! Your will power is inspiring to me too!

Monarch and JCrow - how are you both doing?

Sounds like it is going well gals, keep it up! Mara thanks for the paella recipe, I will have to try it sometime, but without the tomatoes - I hate ''em

good morning all,

i decided to skip the coffee this morning. i feel awake, so i''m opting for water instead. i''m really trying to focus on drinking enough water throughout the day. i find that it''s easier to do, now that i''m in an office environment with a more structured schedule.

last night i went to the gym and did 35 minutes on the elliptical. my calves are burning, but it feels really good to stretch them out. was going to do pilates, but was a little worn out.

for dinner, i made a version of chicken souvlaki -- it''s so flavorful and delicious, without being full of fat and carbs.

marinade: tzatziki sauce:
fresh lemon juice either low-fat plain yogurt or sub low-fat sour cream
oregano squeeze of fresh lemon juice
garlic dill
red wine vinegar lots of chopped cucumber
dash of salt bit of garlic
pepper
olive oil

spoon a couple of tablespoons of the marinade over chopped tomato, thinnly sliced red onion and a bit of feta.

chop chicken breasts into chunks and combine them with the marinade. let sit for about an hour. (went for a walk with pup)

grill the chicken on skewers on a grill pan.

combine grilled chicken with the tomato mixture on a whole wheat pita and bit (or if you are my husband a bunch) of tzatziki sauce.

mediterranean food is the BEST!

welcome orangevixen! i''m sort of like you. i run a lot and do pilates for core strength, but that is about the exent of my fitness routine. for some reason, i''m really not fond of the idea of lifting weights. maybe i can be convinced to add some of that...

yesterday morning, i had some chocolate
40.gif
and my tummy HATED me for it! ah well. serves me right. i don''t know what''s up with my office! there''s chocolate everywhere!! at least 8 types plus chocolate cake and biscotti. where''s my will power?
for lunch i had amy''s pizza. the one with no cheese. SO yummy!! and i ate 1/3 less than i usually do cause my tummy wasn''t too happy. and dinner was brocelli and califlower. but i added butter. i don''t know why, cause it''s not like it needs it.

last night FI and i did a pilates dvd workout. i found out that netflixs has workouts!!! so i put several on our queue. the one last night was our first one and it SUCKED! it was poo poo! it has 3 sections- instructions, beginners & intermediate. well they were all the SAME thing! the routine was VERY basic. and it was about 15 mintutes long, if that. we may do it again tonight then ship it off to get a new one.

for breakfast this morning, we had cherios and bananas and soy milk. i know, not on the plan, but still healthy. for lunch i think we are going to roly poly. i''ll eat a half of an ultimate veggie on whole wheat tortilla.

Good morning Detoxers! I didn''t get a chance to check in yesterday...we are doing inventory this week at work and things are a little on the crazy side!

Yesterday went well enough. I had the usual fruit and coffee for breakfast, hummus and cucumber spears for lunch, and for dinner I made baby portabella mushrooms (sauteed in olive oil, fresh garlic, and pepper) with jasmine rice and I threw in some artichoke hearts for fun (they were canned, oops!), fresh ones are too time consuming for me to deal with, he hee. The TJ''s jasmine rice is very good, I highly recommend it!

I took a 45-minute walk last night, then came home and did some abs, and worked on my lower half and arms as well, so I feel like I got a good long workout. Mara, I was also trying on my fall/winter clothes from last year and I too have to take in a bunch of things and have them altered--everything was too big! I would like to lose about 7 more pounds at this point, so I think I''ll wait until mid-October to get them taken in...hopefully I don''t end up spending more on tailoring than I would if I just bought new clothes, though. I''m down at least a size and a half, and 7 more pounds will put me down at least 2 sizes from last year. I broke down and picked up a pair of Joe''s jeans this weekend, but I think they''re going to end up being too big by next month as well, so I may return them. No use keeping bottoms that are too big--that will just encourage me to get complacent about my goals again!

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

whoops,

maybe i should have had that coffee...my previous thread was intended for the Weekly WORKOUT thread -- not detox appropriate. at all.

sorry for contaminating the thread with poultry and dairy

emembarrassed.gif

lol lulu, i was like ooh that sounds good...oh wait. hahaha!!

actually that sounds divine and i will probably try it next week when we're off the detox. greg and i loved med food and i LOVE TJ's tzatiki!!!! it's very lowfat and low in cals too, something like 30 calories for 2 tbl's...and garlic too. yum. i was thinking of making some sort of chicken something or other that we could eat inside of wheat pitas (my new obsession from TJs) so i'll try that one next week. serve it with a salad. or maybe put some salad inside. don't they do that sometimes at the med places?

i don't know why i am having the hardest time this week with the detox. anyway...this morning i did not feel like having honey puffed kashi so i had a mix of wheat oats and blueberry clusters from kashi and some mango passion with oats. i was going to try to stick to rice cereals this week, but the oats were calling my name. i figure since i can do fresh granola and stuff, and these are organic no preservative kinda cereals from WF that it was okay. hehee. at least i know they are healthy. and it was good to eat something different.

lunch again is hummus, woo hoo. addicted to that stuff ....on whole wheat pita.

dinner is where i have to be strong! we are going out to palo alto to meet up with some friends of greg's...one of his friends is visiting from england so we're all meeting him for drinks tonite. we're grabbing a bite to eat beforehand as PA has a ton of small restaurants in downtown. tons of yummy restaurants. i am trying to figure out where we can do that is detox friendly and won't tempt me TOO much. there is this noodle bar place that could work (actually as i write this i feel dejavu, did i already post this? i'm losing my mind!)...so we'll see if i can get some sort of veggie noodle soup there instead of the typical spicy DIVINE lemongrass chicken noodle soup i get. wah! also i typically get a thai iced tea but figure that's not on the detox plan ... boo hoo.

i can console myself with the idea that on friday night i think we are going to get burgers with my cousin and her boyfriend...so i will only be detoxing for 4.5 days this time...so i figure just make it to friday. i can do it!! we all can!! hehe. have a great day ladies.

oh and jcrow, next time on your steamed veggies, throw some garlic powder on them! it's very yummy and it is great to use instead of butter.

Well, first off I want to say CONGRATULATIONS to you Mara on your new job! That is great! It''s so nice to have a goal, work towards it and achieve it, as you have been doing lately with your exercise, weight loss and now career path! So these are for you -
emgift.gif
emrose.gif
emcocktl.gif
but of course, the drink is non-alcoholic as we are detoxing!
2.gif

I had strawberries and coffee for breakfast, bean soup and small slice of bread for lunch and veggies and rice for supper. Snack was a handful of sunflower seeds sans salt. I actually BBQ''d hamburgers for my men tonight because I really like to torment myself!
37.gif

I feel good, but I am definitely missing what I am not having, so I do look forward to the weekend and some MEAT!! lol
