Is there such a thing?

Maybe I should say the "healthiest" canned soups you've found.

Would like to have some on hand for DH to take to work.

Oh, I must get on my grandstand.

Make a huge pot of soup from scratch.
Freeze individual servings in little bags.

This is how I get 25 cheap, easy, fast, and healthy microwave meals.

I'm seconding Amy's! I also like Annie's soups which are in cartons.

thanks, guys! i'll look into Annies.

well, except for kenny who's trying to make me actually COOK. ::)

(the sheer amount of cutting up vegetables is the reason I would absolutely hate making soup. Or are there any where I can just throw stuff in whole into the pot? 8-) )

If you cook it long enuf, no choppin needed.

I'd check out the Amy's line monarch64 mentioned. I like some of Trader Joe's soups, too.

Try to look for low-sodium options. Over 800-900mg of sodium in a single serving (And remember, that's usually just half of the can!) is too much. :knockout:

I like soups in the fridge section at whole foods and Costco. In a pinch, we will grab some from stop n shop. They taste better to me.

Another vote for Amy's! :wavey:

You can make vegetarian (or really whatever you like) soups in a Crock Pot without too much prep work. I've made potato soups, lentil soups, chili, and tomato soups in the CP with very little effort. If you have a food processor it's even easier.

Healthy Choice Chicken Noodle has the following per serving (2 servings per can):
90 calories
1g fat
15mg cholesterol
390mg sodium
12g total carbs
8g protein

Not bad for canned soup.

Trader Joes Chicken Barley is very good as is Clam Chowder (this one has too many carbs for me).
