I am looking at an "I" VS2 GIA excellent cut, But it has VG sym and polish. It does score 1 on the HCA though.......does that sound right? Does the VG affect the score much?

I really think I want this stone because it has med flour but am wondering if I should hold out for an Ex for Sym/Polish??? I am waiting on an Idealscope.....

Lacking other info, I like an Ex in symmetry. But with a good HCA score and if the idealscope looks good, you should have no problems. And the polish won''t affect anything at that level.

HCA assumes ideal symmetry for its calculation. But for all practical purposes, unless the diamond is very big or you are looking under a scope, the effect of a VG on sym is negligible. Polish as long as it is VG. So the data on your find is almost ideal.
