Okay, I kind of figured out how to enter stones using the HCA. My question is between 3 stone, all ex,ex,ex,ex; is it better the lower the number? I mean one scored 0.3 another scored 0.6 and the last 0.8. Please help, I''m confused.

The correct usage is that you should reject anything over 2. You cannot use HCA to nitpick between stones under 2.

Like birth control, HCA is rarely used this way...

Can you post the numbers?

Diamond 1
Depth - 60.2
Table - 55.7
Crown angle - 34.7
Crown % - 15.5
Pavilion angle - 40.5
Pav. % - 42.5

Diamond 2
Depth - 59.8
Table 56
Crown angle - 34.1
Crown % - 14.6
Pavilion angle - 40.8
Pav. % - 42.9

The first one scored 0.3 and the second 0.8

stone #2 has a dangerously thin girdle for a ring.

Both have nice potential proportion wise.
Now you need some direct assessment - send to appraiser -ideal-scope pic etc

Okay, thanks so much!

Garry, how did you know that the girdle for stone 2 is dnagerously thin. Using depth - crown and pav % gives 2.3% which should be in the thin-med range? Am i wrong with my calculation?
