Hello I'm researching a stone that was certified in 2003 ... 1.51 ct round the 2003 cert
Doesn't have the measurements listed , so I emailed Gia and this is what the sent back
Copied directly from the email...
7.36-7.44x4.59mm
Depth 62.0%
Table 59%
Crown angle Average 34.5
Pavilion Angle Average 42.0%
Star length 55%
Lower half length 85%
Girdle thin to slightly thick faceted
Cutlet none
Polish excellent
Symmetry very good

My question is when I put the numbers in Hca I thought the crown and pavilion
Had to be the same( both angles or both percentages) but it appears I have one of each
Can someone please run this stone for me correctly? Thanks

you can use a combination of angles and %. This stone scores 2 on HCA but based on its placement I would be concerned about possible obstruction issue. Is this for a ring?

Yes it's for an engagement ring

have you seen the diamond in person?

No sir , it's a private sale and I'm trying to figure out if it's even worth the trip

private sale sounds risky. is there a return policy? can you get it checked out by an appraiser? what about getting it re-graded since the prior report is old?

It's a safe transaction but I'm just trying to figure out how goOd of a stone
It is based on the information I currently have... What did you mean by an obstruction
And what would be a fair price for such a stone F Si1

I can't find a good article or link about obstruction, but basically when you lean over your stone it may look overly 'dark'. if we had images that would help. again, this is based on the limited information that we have.

as far as pricing...I did a search and there are 102 diamonds 1.51/F/SI1 with GIA reports...pricing ranges from 13000-18000...since this stone dos not have an updated report though and since it is second hand I would expect to pay no more than 1/2 of that?
