Interesting turns of language.
AGS has developed black box systems based on similar principles of light performance to Garry''s HCA. So, where you like what HCA does, AGS certification should help.
AGA, as linked above, is related, but different, and not black box...Maybe midway between AGS & AGA from that point of view (with respect to being an open system at least), but...the criteria is different. Dave would describe the criteria best. Maybe well cut/crafted...without the extra more narrow focus on light performance. (He/Dave had a new system for that!).
that second AGA should be HCA.AGA, as linked above, is related, but different, and not black box...Maybe midway between AGS & AGA from that point of view

Having talks with patent lawyers and charting the course now that the HCA patent has been granted.
It would be possible to do an HCA for princess cuts. And PDA''s are a possibility
I think you''d want to consider this by way of levels of refinement.Date: 9/28/2007 5:24:03 PM

Thanks guys for your help! I ran a pricescope search for princess cuts using the ideal cut figures given on the AGA chart and was surprised to find so many. What is my best determining factor when deciding between two stones with similar specs (i.e. depth, table, crown)? The reason why I ask is because I have found an ACA cut stone from WF that I am really leaning towards, but what makes that specific cut any better than say an ideal cut sold from another reputable online vendor? I know the ACA is WF''s trademark cut, but is it possible to find diamonds with just as good or better cut elsewhere, and if so how will I know if the stone is comparable to an ACA? Also, I have head people talk about AGS000, how do you know when a stone meets these standards, will it say on the grading report? Sorry if I sound so uneducated about diamonds, because I am, and that’s why im here, haha. Thanks
If I was ever shoping for a princess cut it would be an AGS0 with an AGS report saying so or a stone that had a GIA cert plus scored AGS0 light performance when ran thru the AGS software by the vendor.Date: 9/28/2007 5:24:03 PM
