Hi all,
Been in and out of the forum for a long time now, and finally broke down and bought an oval stone from Whiteflash. I must say at the outset that they have been nothing but great from the get go. The trouble has been finding an oval that we like. We purchased this stone from Whiteflash last week:

Here is the idealscope image for the above stone:

Now that we have it home, it seems like we really should have chosen one that wasn''t so deep. Of course, we made the rookie mistake of trying to minimize the bow tie. Instead we picked a stone that seems to just not have the brilliance of other ovals we''ve seen. However, not having seen but a few ovals first hand, it''s hard for us to know if it''s really the depth that''s the problem or we''re just dealing with the limitations inherant in the oval cut. Of course, like so many, we do not have access to view many stones, so we are left to judge by the numbers. So, the question is, if we get an oval that falls closer to a Class 1A cut grade, will we really see that much difference in fire and scintillation? I understand that everyone has their own view of these things, but what is yours? For example, would this stone look appreciably nicer?

Thanks in advance for your help!!!!
