Since I have never bought a diamond online, I need some help. (surprise, surprise) If I''m interested in a diamond from an online vendor that isn''t currently in their inventory, is there a charge for them to call it in to look at it for me to be able to tell me if it is eye-clean? If so, how much would that be? Also, can I have them call in more than one at a time?

Whether or not there is a charge depends on who the vendor is. Our practice is to call in the stone and evaluate it. If we don''t recommend it, you are not charged shipping. If we do recommend it and you ultimately purchase it, we also don''t charge shipping. The only way we charge for shipping is if we recommend it and you ultimately decide not to buy it. I know many other vendors mirror this practice.

I believe most vendors prefer to call in stones one at a time; it generally saves the client money, and it helps maintain good relationships with the dealers.
