Ok..not a real problem! But, I thought people on PS would understand. I have been engaged for less than a year and I ALREADY want more diamonds and another e-ring. I have this idea in my head that I need a white gold e-ring and a yellow gold e-ring. I also think I need tons of different bands to mix and match. Some with pave. Some without...some yellow gold, some white gold...some rose gold. WHAT is my problem?

The other day at work I actually designed a 2nd engagement ring on white flash...ahhh
I even have been saving so I can get a small ring (.5 carats in a plain setting)for myself...ok..this post serves no real purpose. Just needed to talk about my craziness since it only has been affecting me since I joined this forum!

I think what has happened, is you came across like minded people with fabulous jewellery, and suddenly discovered all these options!

It happens! I would just stick to having one e-ring, but take your time, enjoy all the eyecandy and different ideas, then in a while you can see what has appealed over a decent time period, then aim to get it! But we do understand, it is like being let loose in a candy store!

You are among equally crazy people here, so we all consider you normal :)

I do this as well--in fact in the 9 months we''ve been married, I have bought myself 3 wedding bands in addition to the "official" wedding band, so I''m literally averaging a wedding band every 2-3 months. And last night I just showed D a picture on Leon''s site of my next wedding band, haha.

I also plan to buy myself what I have deemed "e-ring alternatives" so that I have different styles of rings I can wear. I''ll want a bezeled cushion or OEC for a few months, then I''ll switch to an antique setting. I am afraid to buy anything until something sticks--if I keep changing my mind, I''ll never make a decision! Also, I don''t want to spend a lot of money, but instead of buying several half carat optoins, I''m not sure if I should just put it towards one nicer ring? Or maybe just do a RHR instead?

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I can certainly relate--I tend to always want to change what I wear, I don''t think I wear the same ring combination more than once a week. I need options!

ok you''re describing me now!!! same problem has been driving me nuts! after pricescope I want everything, yet I don''t know what I want. It''s weird.
sometimes I wish I had one of each cut, several colors like d,g,m and settings like wg, yg and rose g. in the end I decide to go for the safest, etc.
anyway, it is not bad to have, say, two settings. a friend of mine had two solitaires and two 5-stones, in wg and yg. sometimes she wore this and sometimes she wore that.
if you have the budget and a patient hubby, (

Initially when I read your posting, I dismissed it as trivial, but I realize that for you it is important. Possibly it may be important to many others who just have not said it it in public. You may have voiced the valuable seeds of an idea which is ready for prime time. I understand that you and many more may like to have different color rings for different occasions or different clothing. A new style and direction has been revealed to the marketing gurus.

Some time ago there used to be "shells" which covered an existing ring with a new color and bolder design. They were hinged to be removeable. Your original ring fit inside these shells and was not altered by the additional outer skin. Some of these shells added many extra diamonds and design details yet others were rather plain, but only a different color. No doubt, some jeweler could create a ring where you could thread your diamond''s setting onto different shanks. I have seen it done in pieces over 100 years old, so it is not rocket science. These different shanks can have varied diamond styles already on them so your engagement ring could have several "looks".

Maybe someone will volunteer that they know of a source for this kind of design work. I currently don''t know ayone doing it, but it is a timeless idea.

Hey, that is a brilliant idea Dave! I wonder who people would suggest???? Anyone?

David,
That sounds very interesting and exciting! It reminds me of watches with interchangeable bands to change the style! Thanks for the information! I would love to have many of the shells you are talking about!
