I have been looking for a cushion for some time now. Recently, I have come accross this stone, whose plot doesn't look like any other plot I have seen posted on this forum. Or maybe I haven't been looking in the right place.:)

This is an AGS-certified cushion. Here is the diamond info:

Carat: 1.41
Color: I
Clarity: VVS2
Polish: Ideal
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: None
L/W Ratio: 1.17:1
Girdle: Thin to Thick, faceted
Table: 62.50%
Depth: 67.10%
Crown: 13.60%
Pavillion: 49.00%
Crown Angle: 36.50%
Pavillion Angle: 36.30%

The jeweler doesn't have pictures or ASET images or any other visuals. I am wondering what a stone with the above specs may look like and if it is worth paying to have it shipped to me for visual examination or if I should just move on in my search and look for another stone.

I would appreciate everyone's opinions! Especially, opinions of experienced posters.

Thank you, ladies and gentlemen!:)

Here is the plot:

It does not look unusual. The clarity is VVS2, so you might not be able to photograph the red inclusion(s) on the plot and make them show on Pricescope. They will be rather tiny marks on the original document to begin with. Likely, the stone is a modern cut cushion and the lines on the plot drawing may not be totally identical to the facet design of the diamond. What are your real concerns? Identity of the actual diamond, something unusual in cut style, or some other issue that is not mentioned?

Hi Oldminer! Thank you for you reply.

Here are my concerns:

1. I have seen a few posts on this forum that had a plot and a corresponding picture for a stone, which usually gives a good idea of how a stone with a particular facet design may look like in real life. However, I haven't seen anyone posting or mentioning a plot with facet design like the one I posted. So, I am wondering, if, for example, based on the facets design it is possible to say whether this stone has a chunky appearance or crushed ice appearance.

2. Based on the specs of the stone that I posted (depth, table, etc), is there anything that I should be potentially concerned about with regard to the stone's optics?

3. The stone that I eventually purchase, will be set in a Tiffany Legacy style setting. Should I be concerned about the color of the center stone, if F-G color stones will be used to make the setting? Would an I-color centerstone look too yellow?

The reason I am asking these questions is because I would have to pay to have it shipped to me for visual examination. So, should I rule the stone out right away or based on this information, it is worth paying to have a look at it?

Thank you!
