Hi everyone. . . New here so please forgive if in the wrong area. Recently engaged and did custom design on ring...except jewelers interpretation and our idea of what ring should look like did not coincide. Long story short, I want to change the setting of my stones. I have 3 stones, set in bezel and the jeweler has the stones set so that they are flush with the band. I thought that the stones should be set above the band but still in bezel. Now he says that he has to make a completely new ring. . . Is this true or can he somehow just raise the setting (my thought was since the stones are all bezeled he could separate the bezel from the band and set the stones higher by re-welding).
