Although I am a long time lurker, this is my first post. These forums have helped me tremendously throughout my diamond search. I''ve been looking for an 1.2 ct, AGS0, G, VS2, for several weeks and I''ve finally found one that hits all the numbers (truly ideal proportions). It looks absolutely beautiful from the online pictures (near perfect hearts and arrows), but I am a bit hesitant to empty my bank account before checking with you guys.

Here are the specs:

Report Type: Diamond Qualityâ„¢ Document
Shape and Style: Round Brilliant
Measurements: 6.82 - 6.89 x 4.21 mm
Cut Grade: AGS Ideal 0
Color Grade: AGS 1.5 (G)
Clarity Grade: AGS 4 (VS2)
Carat Weight: 1.206
Fluorescence: Negligible
Comments:

Table: 55.7%
Crown Angle: 34.2
Crown Height: 15.1%
Girdle: Faceted, 1.3% to 3.6%
Pavilion Angle: 40.8
Pavilion Depth: 43.0%
Star Length: 53%
Lower Girdle Length: 76%
Total Depth: 61.3%
Culet: Pointed (.25 from Helium)

From the Helium report:

The min and max crown angles are 34.18 and 34.37, respectively.
The min and max pavilion angles are 40.67 and 40.90, respectively.

The diamond scores a 1.1 on the HCA.

It also scores IDEAL for Brightness, Fire, and Scintillation on the Megascope.

My one concern is that it has a cavity. In reading other posts, I''ve come to the conclusion that it must be very minor since it is a VS2 stone.

The price is $9,600.00.

I would really appreciate some comments or advice. Is this a good value?

Welcome!

It looks great by the info given!! Regarding the cavity, from what I know, it is unlikely to be an issue with a VS2 clarity, does the vendor physically have the diamond and who has it please? You could always make the sale final on an independant appraisal to check this diamond out - here is a tool you can use to find appraisers in your area.

Interesting note about the cavity. My guess is that it probably should be all right since it is a VS2 but I''d feel better if I had an appraiser check out the stone for durability. All the other stats are impressive though.

Looks great! Ditto the ladies on the cavity, and having an IA look at it.
