Have any of you ever seen a strawberry this big?!

You are the MASTER!

I grew one last year...that was oddly shaped...very similar to yours (actually mine looked like 3 attached), just not as GARGANTUAN...Mine was your MINI ME! But it tasted SOOO good. The odd thing was the bite seems endless. A peculiar experience in eating a strawbaby...as you usually "take a bite and end it"...but with this you get to come back again and again for another. Like an apple.

MY VOTE IS TO EAT IT! EAT IT! EAT IT! You aren''t going to turn into Lou Ferrigno...and it is a once in a lifetime experience...strawbaby feast!

You are the master and we bow to you!

(Did anyone else think of a Seinfeld episode reading my words in quotations?)

I really don''t like strawberries, so this thing looks like it''s straight from my nightmares or something .. ugh

Holy cow! The only funky looking berries I''ve seen are ones from when we''ve gone strawberry picking.

any word from Guinness world records? :)did you eat it? what is happening next in this Frankenberry saga?

Holy mutantberry, Batman! I wonder if it''s a world record?

I checked the Guinness book of records, but I don''t see a strawberry listed. (But I didn''t look very hard.)

Maybe you should call them!

I looked online. In 2007 the worlds largest was 5inches. Maybe I have the current largest! I will call when I get home today!

That''s amazing! Did you ever in a million years imagine that one of your claims to fame in this life would be as the proud owner of the world''s largest strawberry?

Good lord, that thing is a monster!

No new developments. I had to work all stinking day so I haven''t even checked out the world records site yet.

I''m going to eat dinner and try to revive myself a little...then I will start my research!

come back and fill us in :)

Ok, I contacted Guiness and they said as a general rule they do not acknowledge "firsts" as their thing is about world records...not firsts. So if it''s not something already in their book there is a 99% chance that what I have isn''t going to make it into their book.

Oh well. We all know I have a treasure!

Bummer.

The members of PS hereby acknowledge that you, stepcutgirl, are the proud owner of what is quite possibly the WORLD''S LARGEST STRAWBERRY currently in existence.

I think you should take lots of photos, then have a strawberry shortcake party.

Well, doesn''t there always have to be a first for everything? I mean, how else is there a record! Maybe you need to go by more strawberries, find some other big ones and then call them back and tell them your berry has the record of being the largest!

I agree with you. But they basically said you have to beat an already established record to be in their book.

I just measured it. It is 4.5 inches long, 4 inches tall and 3 inches deep!

Ha ha ha!

Seriously, I second the ebay suggestion--I mean, someone once sold a grilled cheese resembling the Virgin Mary for $28,000!!!

Frankenberry is listed!

LOL! You need to make up a really great story for Frankenberry. Or just cheat--just send a link to the guys at GoldenPalace since they''ll buy anything!

Who is Golden Palace?

Funny Link

In a nutshell, they''re the ones who bought the $28,000 grilled cheese (among many other wacky items). If you spin that strawberry well (it''s a holy relic, haunted, looks shockingly like Elvis if you partially close your right eye and spin around three times, whatever), they''ll go nuts over it, haha!

I don''t know. I''m afraid to eat it. What if I have the world''s largest strawberry in my hands here and I eat it!

ETA-The others in the same container were just ok.

It does look a little freakish, but I''m sure it doesn''t taste any different.

Frankenberry is listed!
Did you list it as this?!? Classic name! Doodle is right, it needs a great story. I''m totally going to go look for your listing. Off I go!

Okay, found your listing. :)

I think you need a cheeky story to go with the listing. Where''s Haven? She''s good at spinning a yarn.

This makes me want a strawberry so bad, lol.
LOL! That was my pregnant lady reaction too!

Stepcutgirl, you should email that photo to Guiness Book of World Records or Something. You could have a record setter there. I''m not sure that I could eat it though - it freaks me out a bit.

Ok, I edited the name to aka Frankenberry on the title. I can''t think of much of a story...send in Haven! I''ll give her a cut of the profit!

I did. They don''t do firsts. You have to beat the record of something already established.
