Certainly anything by the Beatles would have to top that list.

Most of my favorite songs are from the 60s/70s. Some favorite artists and bands: Crosby, Stills & Nash/Young, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, The Doobie Brothers (more 70s), The Kinks.

And I''m 25, if that matters.

Great lists, Gwendolyn and Ebree! For my list, start there and add the Yardbirds, Tommy James and the Shondels, the Mamas and the Papas, and a whole lot of Brits...

and of course the "folk" musicians... Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and several that were quite a bit more obscure.

60's and 70's music is still pretty much my favorite.

DF -- thanks for the Youtube links!

Gotta agree with many from the RS''s, or anything from the Beatles.

Two songs in particular come to mind. I was of course VERY little
11.gif
, and when I would be mad at my mom because I didn''t get my way, my brother would play this.
9.gif
Used to make me even madder. lol But ya know, it''s SO true....

And when HE was mad at my mom, he''d play this song, really loud, because he knew how much she hated it.

Ahh, good times.....

Most of the ''62 - ''69 Motown music.

The Soul Brothers (Motown''s house band) were the best of the best of the Sixties musicians; it''s a shame they went largely unknown while the singers found fame. Motown was all about ''the sound'', and without The Soul Brothers, there was no sound. Forty plus years later their ''sound'' is recognized by everyone across the globe, and is still timelessly great music.

"So Happy Together" by The Turtles and "These Boots Were Made For Walking" by Nancy Sinatra

I was born in 1962 and I used to stand up in the front seat of the car, before we had seatbelts, and belt out these songs when they came on the radio.....I miss those days.

I have always loved that song by the Moody Blues, "Nights in White Satin." I don''t know why, but it just does something for me.

Just came up with two more: Son of a Preacher Man by Dusty Springfield (my all-time favorite karaoke song), and Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond.
