Yesterday, I went to a friends bridal shower that''s getting married next month and she was showing me wedding cake pictures when I got to get a good look at her ering. The center stone was anywhere from .75 to 1ct with two side stones on each side. Nice antique like setting square setting, round stone kind of like a bezel set around it. But we were outside and when then sun hit the stone in the area of 11o''clock to 7 o''clock inside the stone there was a brown yellow like stain in the stone, not a inclusion or cloud or ,,,, maybe it was I don''t know but I was omg!!! that diamond if it is one looks sick. Would anyone know what this might have been in the stone? It wasn''t anything on the ring or nothing on the underside of the stone because how it is set, I would just love to know what this might have been. Makes me thankful for my eyeclean G colored icey white .50ct !!!!

If anyone can help I would like to say thanks!!!

It IS actually technical - the cleaner is a surface the faster it attracts dirt. Entropy law. Story of our life.

I was in shock.... so it just because she doesn't clean the ring like she should? I know I didn't know what to think of it, I think for her wedding gift I will get her a ultrasonic jewelry cleaner so I can tell her that way she can keep her and her new husbands rings looking as new as the day they exchanged them....

One of the stones in my asscher halo ring turned brown a while ago. I am very careful with my rings and clean them all the time. I cleaned it and cleaned it and it was still brown. Something must have gotten behind it and had it cleaned by Quest who made me the ring. Still have no idea how it happened but now I know stones can get very dirty, even on a clean freak like me, LOL!!!

LOL! But I wondered if maybe Rich meant a (big) internal inclusion? (I''ve heard those referred to as "boogers", too!)
