I''v been noticing lately that the GIA certificates no longer plot out the locations of the inclusions on their stones.....they list what they are , (cloud, feather , pinpoint, etc.), but they don''t show where they are......so I guess you have to call and find out....is that their new policy?????

Hi maxine,
We have a GIA cert without the plots, but it is because it is a dossier report (I think that is what it is called). The stone has a laser inscription, so (I was told) no plot was put on the cert.

Maybe others can help on this one.

Kaili is right. GIA offers a smaller, less expensive version of their full lab report called a dossier. I have seen these most often with smaller stones, but it all depends on how much money the person sending the stone into GIA for grading wants to pay.
