Also-we use semi-gloss on trim/baseboards/painted doors.
For walls--remember that the higher the gloss level-the more imperfections will show.
Go as flat as possible on walls depending on the condition of the drywall/plaster. High gloss paint shows EVERY imperfection.
I did use eggshell in kids rooms when they were young-but you will need to spend time patching and sanding first. Flat is the most forgiving if you have less than perfect wall conditions.
