Has anyone had a bling nightmare before?

I dreamed that I feel asleep with my clothes and some rings on (sleeping within my dream). When I woke up (still in my dream), I went to the mirror, and some fibers snagged on some prongs of my Stuller blue sapphire ring from Inken. I tugged on the fibers, and the melee diamonds popped out and went tumbling to the floor. When I went to pick up the melee gems, I noticed that the floor was littered like a minefield with loose gems, which I normally keep in secure gem jars. I started picking them up from the floor, sapphires, spinels, paraibas, and even an emerald... all the while praying I don't come across one I shattered because I had unknowingly stepped on it... and then the dream ended.

Had anyone experienced a dream about bling that actually scared you? Please share your bling nightmares.

Oh I'm fascinated by meanings in dreams, maybe someone can interpret yours @voce

I had a dream recently that our house was broken into and at first I thought that they had only taken my costume jewelry but then realized they took my recently purchased art deco diamond ring. In the dream I thought I would be able to find it looking in pawn shops because it was an unusual design, then I woke up. It was very upsetting to say the least:

Been having a lot of very vivid, strange dreams, I chalk that up to the monotony of quarantine.

I have also been having strange dreams over the last few weeks, but not bling related. Yet!

In one i traded my car for one that was worth £16k less. The dealer said he'd give me the cash difference & as I drove away, I realised the 'new' car was a banger, falling apart, holes in the floor. I turned back to the dealer, who refused to give me my original car back, or the cash difference & told me he was also keeping my private plate :-o

I also have over the years been prone to grinding my teeth in my sleep when stressed, but haven't done it for years. Last week I woke with slight movement in my top front teeth & pain in jaw above, which for me is a classic sign. The movement had gone in a day & the aching has eased, but is still occasionally bothering me 5 days on. I know my teeth are healthy, had routine x-rays in Dec & all very perfect. One of my front teeth had a resin coat applied 18 months ago, as I had a week spot in the centre that I'd managed to hairline fracture through grinding. But the Dentists are closed except for teeth extraction only, so i've become paranoid that nobody will be able to help if anything WAS wrong. I've had a couple of nightmares since about my teething just dropping out mid conversation! When I'm busy, I don't notice any pain at all. My tooth looks healthy, no discolouration etc, gums perfectly pink & the aching was so sudden & typical of grinding - obviously my bad dreams are bothering me.

The mouth splint I had made in my 20's is long gone. I've just ordered one off eBay that you soften in very hot water, then bite into when it's cooled to impression your teeth. Hopefully it'll stop me biting down during bad dreams in these weird times, as funnily enough my dentist mentioned in Dec having a new one cast to have on standby, which I never got around to booking in for

Yes I had a dream my boyfriend proposed to me with a gigantic yellow gold ring that was shaped like two Las Vegas dice. I woke up like OMGNOOOOOO

Oh my. These are some crazy bling dreams/nightmares.
When waking up from anesthesia after a surgery the Dr said I was mumbling about my ring, and I remember doing so, it was because husband didn't know about that one yet.:silenced:

In actuality, it was the oxygen monitor I had felt on my finger...

I once had a dream where I looked down and stared into the abyss where my diamond should have been sitting.
I can’t describe that “plummeting stomach feeling” accurately but it woke me up and I then had to leap out of bed and run to the light switch to turn it on and check. I woke poor DH up who wondered what the hell was happening.
But my most disturbing dream......
I bought and lived alone in an apartment on the 3rd floor. In my dream I heard a noise from the kitchen. I went into the kitchen and I could see someone trying to climb into my apartment via the window. I screamed at them to stop but they kept coming. I grabbed a knife and I chopped off the fingers on the hands that were on my window sill. There was a scream as the person fell backwards down the 3 floors. The fingers were still sitting on my window ledge and I “flicked them off” the Window ledge and then shut the window.

No jewellery bad dreams, more actual things that happen, like I was smacking a wall doing a house demo with gloves on wearing a Cognac Argyle diamond that was approx 1.50 carats and I smacked my hand hard against bricks and split the diamond in half (true story) and I've managed to drop and chip gemstones and lose a diamond earring I've never found somewhere on our front lawn.

So I don't have bad bling nightmares, I simply have real life bad bling experiences.

I had a bling dream that turned into a short nightmare when I woke up. I dreamed I was at a secluded beach and there was a treasure chest. I opened it to find gold, diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires. All very big and of the highest quality. Many were set in elaborate rings and necklaces. I scooped them up and clutched them in my hands. When I woke up- still in my semi-dream state tightened my hands around my treasure and found my hands empty. That was the nightmare part.

@Alex T I'm sorry you're having other bad dreams that cause you to grind teeth. Hopefully that mouth splint works for you!

@arkieb1 yes, splitting a diamond would cause serious heart palpitations for sure! My worst real life bling experiences so far have been having gems fly out of their gem boxes, and then me not being able to find them.

I have recurring nightmares about dropping my rings down our insinkerator and then cutting my fingers off trying to fish them out. We’re taking the insinkerator out as soon as we can go to the hardware store again!

It was a bit mundane to be described as a nightmare, but I had a dream that my husband upgraded my engagement ring with a 2-3 ct crushed ice cushion solitaire. Which is totally not my jam. When I told my husband about my dream, he said it must’ve been a CZ anyway because we have a running joke that his dream self is an arse.

@voce that is a very interesting dream/nightmare. Definitely I feel it is related to the stress of Covid 19 and uncertainty about the future and what we don't know.

I never had a bling nightmare that I can recall. Even during the 2 years I was agonizing over not getting Bubbalah. I am terrible at remembering my dreams however.

Last night's dream I do remember. It was a nightmare so to speak because I was unable to do my exercises and strength training (which right now I am unable to do because of a strained back/neck) and I was stressed about that. Not pleasant.

When dreams are literal the meaning is not a mystery. I guess even in my dreams I am pretty straightforward. Though I wouldn't say I was uncomplicated.

@arkieb1 ouch that is definitely worse than just having a nightmare about bling.

Wise decision!
Listening to the universe is always a good idea.

Yes that would be a nightmare of sorts for me too. LOL.

It is a good thing they don't allow us to wear our jewelry in the hospital. LOL I wonder what the surgeon was thinking as you were talking about your ring under anesthesia.

OMG and Noooooooo is right. :eek2: It's always a relief to wake up from a nightmare!

@Alex T I hope the mouth splint you ordered works for you and helps you stop grinding your teeth.

@StephanieLynn I agree many of the dreams are probably related to the stress of what we are all going through right now. Glad that was just a nightmare for you.

I had a real life one the other week. I normally close the sink drain when giving my jewelry a scrub but between my 4yo being on top of me and pregnancy brain I forgot. My DBTY with my unique diamond charm went right down the drain. Thankfully I had the water on slow flow and immediately turned it off. DH had been out for a run but came home a few minutes later. He was able to take apart the drain and get it out of the U pipe. PHEW.

I have a real life one too: while my husband was supposedly looking after them while I was working, my 1 year old got into my jewellery boxes and took things into various rooms throughout the house. She bent some earring hooks and 1 earring is still missing. Tbh something else could be missing too and I just haven't realised.

She loves shiny things just like her mother :cool2:. She keeps asking me to give her my rings and then they end up with bite marks :eek2: so I don't let her have them anymore.

Moral of the story is to keep your jewellery locked up and maybe lock your room too. And if your kids are quiet there's a good chance they're getting into trouble.

My boy when he was 3 got hold of a tub of sudocrem! :eek2:
He also loves my sparklies but I keep them locked away safely. For a 9 year old he is very good at identifying coloured stones and takes a real interest! :mrgreen2:

Did he eat the sudocrem? Mine did... At least their insides were disinfected ;)2

I had that happen at our last house with my wedding ring! Rang my husband in a panic but while he was on the way home to fix it, I worked out how to undo the U-bend and get it out. It's the most awful feeling seeing it slip down the drain tho!

I felt that! ;(

No bling related nightmares for me but this does remind me of that woman who had a nightmare she was getting robbed on a bus or a train and she had to swallow the ring to keep it safe...only to wake up and realize she did in fact swallow her ring.

HI:

Ivory tower dreams that have jewellery mixed in. Don't know why I dream in so many channels.

cheers--Sharon

I just had a bling nightmare last night. o_O

In my dream, I traded my solitaire (in Avatar) for an "Upgraded ring" in yellow gold. This yellow gold ring had 2 sides, one one side was a solitaire (about 1ct) prong set, and the other side had 3-stone bezel set with all 3 stones (tcw~1ct). You can have 2 looks depending on which way faced up.

I went home, and proudly showed my dh and everyone what I'd done, and everyone blew up and called me CRAZY! They said there is no way to see all of the diamonds at the same time, and it was a total downgrade, and not an upgrade from my solitaire! I panicked and asked my dh to go back to the jewelry store with me to talk the owner into taking back the yellow gold ring, and giving me back my solitaire, but we had 20 minutes to do so before the store closed, so we were running and running to the bus stop to try and catch the next bus....that's when the alarm went off and I woke up from the nightmare! I don't even know why there was a bus involved in my dream. No one takes the bus in So Cal, we all have our own cars!

I have this weird dream once in a while where I get a new diamond and every time I look down at it it looks more included and has big cracks in it. By the end of the dream I'm in a panic!

I had one last night!

I had a dream I ordered a white gold and diamond ring and when I opened it, it was a yellow gold three stone blue sapphire cabochon ring. I spent the entire dream on the phone trying to find the phone number to call the jeweler and find out what happened and plotting how to sell it. I swear, quarantine has made me crazier.

Yes. I once had a dream that I was admiring my ring and how beautiful it was. But when I looked closer, there was a big gaping hole where the diamond used to be...o_O

I've had nightmares where my diamond has been replaced with a poor quality stone, or is missing entirely. I wake up with a sick feeling, and then I'm relieved it was just a dream.

The hits just keep on coming  I had ANOTHER bad bling dream. Possible sign I need to get a life even in quarantine?

I had Ivy and Rose do a custom setting to fit one of my (many) rose cuts and I’m being impatient because I really want to set it and jewelry stores are closed. I’m going to send it to them and have them do it but I have to wait until I can print a shipping label and I’m waiting on an ink cartridge. ANYWAY I had a dream I was at an amusement park and I was trying to set it myself with a pair of rusty pliers. The prongs kept snapping off and by the end of the dream the whole ring was covered in rust and some kind of black gunk.
