Has anyone ever googled something...

... and ended up on some crazy website that you didn't ever expect to see? I was googling stuff on HUD housing today, and clicked on one of the first links that came up... I started reading and it started to get really racist sounding. I scrolled up to the top of the page and discovered that I was reading some post from a white power website!!! I clicked off of it as soon as I could, but now i'm so terrified that that search is in my browser history! I would never want anyone to think I would visit one of those sights for any reason. Anyone ever had a similar experience?

I translated an academic paper on white supremacy once. Believe me, my browsing history is far worse than yours - I had to search some phrase usages, to make sure I used the most appropriate word choice. Not pretty.

Oh yes, I was horrified by some of the things I read, and it only took me a few sentences to realize what was going on.... can't imagine having to research it!

How do you think I found pricescope.

Can you imagine how horifying it was to read that cut quality and light return was important. That my local jeweler had perhaps lied to me about the quality of their stones....


If you want to find the good - you have to be willing to sort through the bad too.
