Well I have taken silversmithing classes for the past several years, but you can really usually only go up half a size just by hammering with a leather mallet on a mandrel. And I've broken open enough rings that I wouldn't suggest doing it if you are trying to do it on a piece of fine jewelry, unless you are okay with your experimenting possibly ending in taking it to the jeweler to get not only resized but also repaired. There are also ring stretchers but I have no idea about those and besides they're expensive enough so that by the time you've bought one, you've paid several times the cost of having a jeweler do it.
