Harry Winston ? for people who have dealt with them

I am looking to purchase the Harry Winston Micropave cushion cut. Being a holiday weekend I will be in contact with them either mon or tues in their NY office.(being from PA thats the closest to me). I am looking to spend $27-30,000. I hear they negotiate which is awesome, and I want to get all my ducks lined up before I begin negotiations. With that being said, what do u think is the biggest carrot size I will be able to purchase? thanks for all the help

Shall we start with carat vs carrot? carat is a measurement of weight- carrot is a vegetable you can eat.

Biggest carrot? You should first check with your local grocery store''s produce department But in terms of carats at HW, they only carry DEF and maybe G clarity. Do you have a clarity preference?

D,E,F and G are diamond colors, not clarity...

Yes, I do believe HW only carries D-F color and VVS2 clarity and above(not sure on the clarity but I know its VVS2 or VS1 and above)

What size are you hoping to get?

Have you heard of Leon Mege, I heard somewhere here on pricescope that he makes settings for Harry W. If I were you I would souce a nice cushion from GoodOldGold or from http://www.engagementringsdirect.com/ and put that cushion in this Leon Mege setting. You would get more bang for you buck, a bigger stone Im sure and Leons work is beautiful!

HW sells only D E F and up to VS2.... on occassion they deal in near colorless if the stones are really big and rare but not in their off the shelf merchandise (under 5 cts or so).

30K should net you 1.5 ct center in the micropave. If you want to get to the 2 ct center mark you''re looking closer to 45K +

I agree that Leon Mege does very nice work. In fact, I personally own HW micropave ring with Leon wedding band. The quality of the band is as good if not better than the HW.
