oh. I just had to add one more thing.

Dumbledore STUNNED Harry!! By leaving this out it made Harry look like a pansy who wasn''t willing to fight when he was really struggling against the stunning spell the whole time trying to save Dumbledore. This is also why Dumbledore didn''t have time to overcome Draco before being disarmed. I also didn''t like that the fight scene was virtually eliminated and that you didn''t see Harry give his Felix to all of his friends. Without the fight scene we missed Bill getting bit and Fleur was all but eliminated. As they are two main characters in the last book (Shell Cottage) we need to know this about them.

Okay, ONE more thing....

Without Dumbledore spending time telling Harry what he thought the Horcruxes must be, Harry really has NO idea of what he''s looking for.

I do think that the next movie will fill in blanks. Maybe it''ll have Dumbledore''s funeral and people talking about what happened that Harry was unaware of. If they spend enough time at the Burrow they can bring back in the characters, too. And, Harry could tell Ron and Hermione what took place during other private lessons with Dumbledore (regarding Horcruxes).

Bellatrix WAS amazing and I wonder if that''s why they added the Burrow attack scene (to give her more screen time) and of course Snape is always outstanding. While Slughorn wasn''t exactly what I pictured physically, his demeanor was spot on. I agree that out of the kid characters, Ron''s was played the best.

I''d like to watch it again with the thought of "this is just a new movie" rather than "this is HP"

I guess more credit is due to the people who tried to take a 700 page book and make a movie out of it at all. I don''t think it''s something most screenwriters would jump at.

+1 Helena Bonham Carter does her character PERFECTLY as always, and Alan Rickman has been FANTASTIC from the start!

In terms of the main character's acting, can't say much for the guy who plays harry (can't remember his name at the minute) or Emma Watson but Rupert Grint is great!

I think the movies are written so that some of the elements in a book can be left out (in one movie) and written into a different scene in the next two movies. Personally I think the book is almost always better, but sometimes chopping up diff elements of the book and re-arranging them so that the movie has a better flow is O.K.
I always thought that Snape is kind of sexy!!! (not Alan Rickman normally, just as Snape). Any time I tell a friend that, the friend will laugh at me. Nobody seems to agree. I wonder if he would date me. . .Guess not since I'm a lowly muggle.

I loved it. It was shorter than I thought would be. I agree that they cut a lot out, but that''s because they have two movies to make for book 7. And I can''t WAIT for the final two movies!!

It was entertaining for the two hour movie time, but I was disappointed as far as actual content. I''m re-reading the 6th book now and it''s one of my favorite Harry Potter books. Voldemort''s back story is SO interesting that I was really disappointed they left much of it out. There was a little TOO much young romance in this movie for me - could have used a few less Lavander/Ron scenes in my opinion. I do love the scenes that follow the book fairly close (Slughorn''s memory collection, the scene where Hermione makes birds fly at Ron). Those scenes seem as if they were taken straight from my brain and put on film - it''s amazing how movies can be made that mimic so much of what you imagined for so many different people!

It''s funny with HP movies for me, though. I really did not enjoy the 5th book (Harry is so whiny!), but it''s my favorite movie. My two favorite books (3rd and 6th) have movies that don''t do much for me.

I agree with the Ron/Lavander scenes. In fact, DH and I were surprised as to how girls in general were portrayed in the movie. I loved book 6, but thought the movie was just ok. I have high hopes for movie 7!

Bahahaha MC!!! That is hilarious!

I love Snape too! His character (for me) went from "Ewww, slimy hair evil dude" to "OMG he''s my knight in shining armour" towards the end of the book! His sacrifice for Lily (and Harry) is so heart-wrenching

Alan Rickman is awesome as Snape. I don''t know if I''d go so far as to say sexy, but he plays the character to a tee.
