Hard-wearing mens' wedding band?

I need to find the absolute strongest and attractive good looking wedding band for my fiance. I've read about Tungsten and similar things, but are there any other suggestions. We would like something simple that will hold it anything he puts it through without having to always come off.

My husband wears his wedding band 24/7 and works with his hands (landscape industry and works on cars as a hobby). He had a titanium band for 8 years, it held up fine but the surface was very scratched up very quickly. 3 years ago I replaced it with a cobalt chrome hammered band. It shows a tiny bit of wear now, but still looks great after getting beat up daily. And the color looks very similar to white gold or platinum instead of the dark grey titanium and tungsten have.
