I just wanted to wish everyone a very happy and healthy Mother's Day tomorrow.
I know this is probably one of the (if not the) strangest Mother's Day you ever celebrated.

How are you going to celebrate?

Social distancing in person?
Zoom interaction?
Via conventional telephone?

What if anything will you be doing that is special for the day?

I know for most of us it is a difficult Mother's Day because we cannot hug our moms, our grandmoms, our children, our grandchildren, our nieces and nephews. Not this year but hopefully next year.

Warm wishes to all the moms and grandmothers and aunts.

Dearest PSers, happy Mother's Day
And there is no better time to just say
wherever you are, wherever you roam
Wherever your loves ones are, is your home
You are all amazing in your unique way
Sharing my thoughts with you on this May Day

Generous, giving, caring and kind
Full of love and sweetness, support that shines
You have daughters and sons, kitties and dogs
Even ponies and birds, chickens and hogs
You put lots of love into the days
You make most worries just go away

It's all about priorities and when it comes to that
PSers have it straight and that's just a fact
Diamonds and gems, all so special that's true
It brings joy and sparkles to me and you
But what brings so much love to all of us
is love between mother and child of course

Today of all days is a good time to say
PS mommas, PS kids, come what may
You support each other, whatever day
good or bad, happy or sad, bling or not
Your PS moms, daughters, sons and the lot
All special, mere words cannot impart
The love you share, the bond tightly knot

Happy Mother's Day, to one and to all
This year may be strange but you will not fall
Coronavirus is hanging around
But we won't give up, we will hold our ground

Strong love supports you, holds you sure and strong
With love like that you can never go wrong

Stay safe and be healthy
Know you are much beloved
One day, soon hopefully

Once again all can hug

I am sharing a pic of my mom and me circa summer 1985. I spent the summer in Europe by myself and she and my dad and my sister flew out to meet me my last 2 weeks in Italy. She was younger here than I am now.

That pic of you and your mum is so precious @missy, what beauties you both are That poem is amazing!

I'm having a zoom chat with my brothers and parents. Stage 1 restriction lifts may happen here as early as next week, so hopefully we can drop mum's gifts in to her in person. She loves all things art, so we bought her some art supplies, and my 7 year old and 4 year old made her cards, which they're super proud of and are busting to give her!

And I've ordered home delivery of my favourite cake...chocolate mousse with layered mudcake, lemon curd and raspberry curd, from a local patisserie. It's not very sweet at all, so utterly divine, and too easy to eat :lickout: And of course, looking forward to lots of cuddles from my babies.

My kids live at home in a multi generational situation here. It's just how life turned out. So I'm good, no distancing needed. I miss my mom, because I lost her when I was 36 and it seemed everyone else still had moms at that age. As I approach 60, she would have been 89 and I feel a bit more normal about it. Is that weird? DH still has his mother despite bad odds, so I'm glad for that. We're not doing anything for MD really.

We celebrated Mother's Day yesterday b/c DD#2 have to work tomorrow. My mom passed away in 1985 we usually go visit her grave site on Mother's Day.

Thank you for the lovely words @missy. Our Mother’s Day is in March here, but with DS living 5000 miles away, we don’t exactly celebrate.

And Happy Mother's to you as well @missy - And a Happy Mother's Day to all of the PS Ladies.

You look like sisters @missy ! So cool you spent a summer in Europe. Your poem is beautiful as well.
We are doing a zoom call with my parents tomorrow. I sent a gift but it will get there Tuesday. I definitely feel guilt for not traveling to her. We are handling the pandemic differently. Hopefully the day will be special for her nonetheless. Happy Mother's Day too all!

Happy Mother’s Day to all! I’ve arranged flowers to be delivered to my mum & posted her a card. (Will call her later too obviously!) My sisters all have kids so their children made them cards & breakfast in bed

happy mother's days to all you mum's and mom's out there and not forgetting lots of love to all the nannas too

and love and kindness to any new mums who perhaps don't have the support we would normally expect a new mum to get

Thanks Missy, I talked to my Mum today, she's still in hospital but is doing O.K.... and spent the day with my own family.

You are one of the best fur Mum's I know!!!!

Hubby is so sweet. He bought and installed a new toilet seat for me.

There is this dinky little toilet in the laundry that I've claimed as my own. I don't like sharing toilets and it wouldn't be nice to ban the rest of the family from the other real bathrooms.

So he bought a new toilet seat to make it all nice! That's what a real happily ever after with prince charming looks like I reckon! :lol-2:

Hope you enjoy a wonderful Zoom chat and woohoo may your restrictions be lifted soon and may you be able to see your mom and other loved ones in person!
And thank you for your lovely words.

I am sorry for your loss @lyra. You were young when your mother died and I cannot imagine how difficult it must have been and still is. Sending you lots of good wishes and hope your Mother's Day is a wonderful one. I am glad your kids are with you today to celebrate. Hugs.

I am sorry your mom is gone @Dancing Fire. I hope your Mother's Day celebration yesterday was a good one. And that you find much joy (I know you do) in your kids and grandkids. Your mom would be so pleased knowing your home is filled with love.

Happy Belated Mother's Day @Austina. I know your son is far away but so glad you can speak with him whenever you want to and one day, hopefully in the not too far future, you can move much closer to where he and his FI live. Hugs to all of you. XO.

Aww, thank you @bling_dream19.
Enjoy your Zoom call @bling_dream19 and I am sorry you cannot see your mom in person. The gift I sent my mom was supposed to get there yesterday but I got an email saying it was delayed and hopefully will arrive by Monday. The times we live in have changed quite a bit these past couple of months. I hope your mom has a special day and I know she takes pride in the fact she has an amazing daughter. Hugs.

That is love. Nothing says it quite like a toilet seat of your own. Love it.

Happy Mom's Day @mellowyellowgirl. Love the pastries and love the card. So sweet. Have a wonderful day. XO.

Happy Mother's Day @Daisys and Diamonds sweet Nicky! And you are quite right. Mom's day is for so many people. Not just moms per se but anyone who loves a child and takes care of them in some way. Wishing everyone here a very happy Mom's day. And you are a great mom to your furry babies Nicky. XO.

Thank you Arkie. And I am glad your mom is doing OK though still in the hospital. I hope she gets to go home soon. Glad you are celebrating the day with your family who loves you so very much. Human and furry babies alike. Hugs.
