I am about 18 hours late but I wanted to wish everyone who celebrates a very happy Hannukah. I love when the holiday coincides with Christmas, I am a cashew so we have a tree and the menorah and all that lights is just lovely.

You aren't supposed to use the Hannukah candlelight for any practical purpose, just to reflect and remember, but I must say that lighting really compliments the little miracles on my fingers.

Thank you @CSpan. Very kind of you. It's one of the happy holidays we have and lol those are few and far between.

Happy Hannukah and Merry Christmas and wishing everyone a very happy holiday season no matter which holiday you celebrate. (((Hugs))).

What is a "cashew"?

Also: I did not know that one is not supposed to use the light from candles of the menorah for any purpose but reflection. Thanks for the enlightenment. (Pun noted but not intended.)

Happy Hannukah!

My family celebrates both! My daughter-in-law is Jewish as is my grandson...❤️ Happy Hanukkah

I can't take credit but a cashew is someone with one Catholic parent and one Jewish parent.

Another tradition is that you are supposed to have the menorah in the window and it isn't Hannukah til someone else sees your candle light.

Of course all this is midrash or commentary and tradition since this holiday isn't proscribed in the Torah. So you can pretty much celebrate the world's first religious insurrection as you see fit.
