Hope most of you are able to enjoy a day off and some fine weather. And perhaps an extra-long weekend for some of you?

I came in for a 1/2 day today since I am taking off for the weekend to go to a wedding a few hours away....I am the only one here today it looks like. Even the usual workaholics aren''t here! Nice and quiet.

I do not feel like celebrating. I think it''s a sad day for Canadians, given what transpired in Toronto during the G20 summit. Basic charter of rights of Canadian citizens were revoked in broad day light. Since when did we turn into an oppressive police state??? Shame on you, Harper.

On a brighter note, we are enjoying the jazz festival in Montreal

Not a Canadian, but live and work in Detroit with many a canadian nurse. Went down to see the combined fireworks on the river.

I just wanted to say that I LOVE the rings in your avatar. I would love a Sapphire engagement ring (hopefully) sometime soon and I'm really digging yours.

Happy Canada Day everyone though im a bit late im afraid...still i spent it on a lake in the middle of nowhere so it was fitting i guess, for my second Canada Day now...hopefully there will be many more to come
