All cats are awesome in my book, and I love black cats!

I would have had a black kitty back in 1996, it was a friendly stray with a crooked tail that would come into my rented accommodation for pats and cuddles at the time. However, my then BF who became my hubby would not entertain the idea of cats, so that went out of the window.

I would jokingly refer to my ex-hubby as my cat substitute as I would have become a crazy cat person a lot sooner had it not be for him! Needless to say, that did not go down too well!

Our first cat in Ukraine was a black female. The Principal of the school that I worked at gave her to me as a small kitty. It was the only reason my mom finally agreed to have a cat at our apartment. She greatly respected the Principal's authority . I don't have any pictures, she didn't live long enough and I got my first camera several years after her untimely death. At that time we had 3 kitties but neither was black. Maybe because she had a very bad temperament and didn't allow being petted by anyone. The only exception was my husband whom she adored.

Now my son and my daughter both have black kitties. The son's one had been rescued 2 times. The first time it happened when one good girl picked her from a shelter, the second time was when my son and his wife adopted this kitty after the good girl got pregnant and didn't want the kitty anymore. Daughter has a boy she adopted from a shelter too. He has white hair growing from his ears. Both kitties are extremely great with babies. One is my closest neighbor and another had spent several days and nights with us when his humans travelled. So I think I have a right to post their pictures here.

Wen we lost our bad behaving (biting and scratching) black kitty who only lived for 5-6 years with us, I cried for several days. Life with her was full of adventure, everyone loved her and no one had ever complained. Very sorry for your great loss.

I love black cats.
My first black cat was a cat named Billy. He had a really tough start to life and had a lot of aggression issues with people. But he loved my ex. When my ex and I broke up, he had bonded so closely with him, and they were two peas in a pod. I asked him to keep himI loved Billy but he had chosen his person, and I didn’t want to break them up just because it didn’t work out with me! He’s happy and still doing well!

this is Timothy. she had kittens under our grape vine two years ago. hopefully she and her babies have gone on to be part of loving homes - we took her to the Wanganui spca where her and her little family were fostered out
