Halo Ring + Stone on a $5,000 Budget

Well if you've seen similar rings to what's he's making you and you liked the quality that's what matters. You just want to know what you're getting into, KWIM?

That stone looks nice.

I mean yes the cert is important for that JA one. But we know ita got a good idealscope and we know the color and clarity. So while its important, I think you can make your decision without it.

What's the price of the one he's offering?

The one he is offering is $3,050 total. So for ring and stone I'd be hitting around $5,100 max including GST.

Is the JA cheaper when you consider shipping, vat, and how much that vendor will charge to set an outside stone?

Due to the exchange rate, I think it will be about $2,840 AUD before shipping charges, so will put it around $3,300 probably after duty I think.

Also confirmed the setting would be $2,100 including GST. The side stone weight would be 0.45ct and the stones would come out of a VS2-SI1 clarity E-F colour parcel in order to match the centre stone.

I think that JA stone is a nice deal for someone in the us, but its hard to look past all the shipping costs.

Plus there is something to be said about the convenience about getting the stone and setting from the same place.

Can you get a real photo? Or even better, go see it in person and decide? Make sure it's eye clean and you like the look.

I might even see if they can pull a few stones, maybe compare that one with a larger I?

So JA have sent me the AGS certificate for that stone. I've attached below. Looks pretty good!

The local jeweller can't get me a real image or idealscope of the stone he can source as the wholesaler he gets it from doesn't provide them for stones below 0.70 carat apparently. Is this strange?

I've been offered this stone locally. Would appreciate any feedback as I need to make a final decision in the next few days!?
