Hi everyone,

Below I have pics of my e ring. The thing is becuase of the setting I have chosen I think it is difficult to tell/ see the diamond. One diamond in the setting is 1.32. The other is just a carot. They are both RCDC but one is a D and the other is an H. my question is 1. Can you tell which is which? Does one have signifcantly better color or bigger size compared to the other? Also I was wondering if the setting I have chosen will not show off the radiant as it should? Does anyone with halo''s care to comment? Do you think it hides the beauty, sparkle of your diamond? Should I ask to have my set up higher? On a side note, my setting when finished will look a little different. Here is a link to my setting. http://www.jewelry-studio.com/x.levy.html It will be more rectangle like the style # 4530EC one. The one that I have tried on in the pics is 4530 one. I will not have diamonds on the side, just diamonds around my big diamond. So...do you think my diamond will be too hidden????? Can''t wait to hear from you! Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Fixing your link for you:
http://www.jewelry-studio.com/x.levy.html

Is the ring on the pictures yours? Are you thinking on buying this ring or you already bought it?

ETA: I just saw your last post... Never mind. No, I don't think your diamond is too hidden.

Well it is not mine yet. I thought I was fairly sure on the setting but now I am wondering if it is too much metal around the diamond. I haven''t picked out the diamond yet. They are getting some other RCDC''s in for me to look at. What is your opinion? Does it look like to much medal? Does it look like I''m trying to hard to make it look bigger. Also does it look like it is set bezel or prong. I don''t want bezel but am not sure how it should be set. HOpe to hear from you and others soon. Thank you!

Meg

Hi Meg. I think that this halo might just be too much. Since your stone will be so faceted and sparkly, there just isn''t enough transition, in my eyes, between that and the shine and sparkle in the halo. Have you looked at the stones in a finer halo? I think I would like one with smaller pave and less metal, personally. I absolutely think that this particular setting does hide the beauty and sparkle of your diamond (either choice). Make that beautiful center stone the superstar it is!

Good luck!

I was looking for this thread everywhere... where did you go lady?

Anyway, I think katamari is right on point. This setting stuff is kinda tricky I find. It''s all about proportions. My preference is also for a halo with a minimal amount of metal showing. In plain words, I would like to see the halo stones closer together and with less metal in between. So, I have a feeling I might like something more delicate so the center stone can shine!

I''d say the first and last images posted are the H stone. I can''t really tell a difference in size, but the stone in both of these pics looks quite warm to my eyes.

As the proud owner of a radiant, I vote against setting these beauties in such a large halo. To me they just get swallowed up and their uniqueness is lost among all the other stuff going on.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for responding. So now you really have me thinking if this is the setting I want. I REALLY want my ring to be a show stopper but also people to notice the beauty and sparkle of the diamond. By the way if you haven''t seen the link of the actual setting I have chosen, here it is. One of the main reasons I like this setting so much is because there will be a small pink diamond where there is yellow gold/ yellow diamond in the setting on 4530 EC. Pink has, and always will be my favorite color and I wanted the smallest touch of pink on my e ring. Here is the link to the settings. They are on page 16. The one on my finger in the pics is 4530 but the one they were going to design is the 4530 with the emerald setting. (My radiant will be more rectangular)
http://www.jewelry-studio.com/x.levy.html (Thank you to the person that fixed the link for me.) I do love the look of halos and I want my diamond to appear much larger than what it is. I have started looking at some of the Tacori settings. Here are a link of a few. Please let me know what you think of this and if my diamond will shine through but still look as big as the other setting. Also do you think I can still have my added pink diamond on the band somewhere. Please help me! Mike and I are going downtown to pick my actual RCDC diamond on Tuesday and I need to know for sure the setting I am going with! Here are a few of the Tacori''s I like http://www.tacori.com/TACORI-SRCH/RINGS/2620ECLG-A-1-1-145-/ The style number is 2620ECLG I also like this one but I do not want diamonds on the band and I do not know if they can make it like that. style no.2502EMP8X6 (Levy creations is able to make the band plain. Ok so I hope to hear from all of you really soon. Also if anyone knows other designers that can change one of there designs a bit like Levy creations and could please let me know I would really appreciate it. Or if anyone knows of some designers that make fabulous halo type settings. I''d like the setting to be no more than $2500. If you seen any settings you like and could post pics and info then maybe I can have it made into a custom setting at the store I will be buying from.
