Honestly I think this is a very pretty ring and gives you great finger coverage. For me the diamonds in the halo are too large and do not match the proportions of the center stone. This doesn't bother everyone as people have different preferences but since you are asking for honest opinions....

Also go to the top right hand corner. Hit report concern and ask to move this to Rocky Talk. You will get more responses there. This forum is really for oogling finished pieces. If you have a specific question about design/ construction/ opinions I would post in RT.

It is very pretty but I agree with SB. The halo stones are a little too big and I feel like the halo needs a downward tilt to it to
prevent that flying saucer look.

Edit - Dont get me wrong though...its still a beautiful ring the way it is!

I think it's a beautiful ring!! I love the finger coverage, it looks very substantial on your hand. If it was my ring, I'd probably prefer the halo stones to be a bit smaller...but the ring certainly looks really pretty as is.

Just curious...are you having doubts about your ring? If so, what is bothering you about it? Are you able to make any changes to it at this point?

I think you have a very pretty ring. Like the others, I would prefer smaller melee in the halo... maybe 1/2-1 pointers...

Besides that, the only thing that I would change would be the prongs. They look kind of long and could be shaped a little more like a "claw" and they appear to be set a little too close together on the top and bottom -- they may need to be a little further apart and set more in the corners (as opposed to "top and bottom"). :))

Thank you for your thoughts. I love the ring the way it is I just usually see smaller stones around the center stone so I was wondering what others thought about my style halo with the larger stones.

At the end of the day this is all that matters! Enjoy your beautiful ring!

It's very pretty! It looks like a flower.

I'm one of those who likes who can happily go either way with melee stone sizes and so I like your ring. You like the ring the way it is and it is a very pretty ring so keep on lovin' it! :appl:

There's a massive amount of charm (to me) in the old Victorian style rings, which tended to have larger surrounding stones and the smaller melee is nice too. I've smaller melee it used to both good and not so good effect on a halo (usually when the melee is overlapped by the center stone) and then it just looks crowded or crammed in. There's some designers who do a superb job with it. I'm thinking of Susimoo's reset from solitaire to halo. Same stone and it was such a stunning transformation...

I think hers is somewhere in here.

I guess what I'm saying is when I look at some rings, smaller melee isn't always the answer. Sometimes they seem to diminish the center too, it's not always just bigger melee making a stone seem smaller. I think the setting has a big part in that as well.
