we have a shared bank account. even if i tried to hide something, he would eventually figure it out.
kind of like he figured out my taco bell lunch habit i got into at the end of last year (which has since been stopped since i am trying to lose weight).
my hubby really holds me accountable when i say i''m dieting...which is what i need and what i''ve asked him to do...i hid a container of ice cream from him last year...i put it in the very back of the freezer.
(i feel better now that i''ve admitted that actually.)

I''m a harry potter NERD so sometimes if I come across Bertie Bott''s Jellybeans I might not tell dh. Why? Because I''ll never hear the end of it lol. Usually it comes out of my spare change if I get it anyhow. Big purchases we would never hide from each other.
I hide food from my DH. It's things like chocolate, which if he sees, he'll eat all of it at once. I like to buy a bit of it and take a few bites here and there. . .Date: 1/12/2010 3:19:21 PM

Haha I've hidden ice cream too! I'll be eating it and he'll see me and say 'heyyyyy where did you get that' I usually get the tiny ben and jerry one serving things so i dont have to share, muhahaha, I'm terrible lol
Dh and I are the same about Christmas. We have a set budget and my husband told me how much he spent this year so there wouldn''t be an surprises. I even told him what I was getting him beforehand to be sure that it was okay with him (a blue ray player).Date: 1/12/2010 3:25:08 PM

Even at Christmas we designate how much we''re spending so even if I hide the gift itself, he still knows how much it cost.
Radiant - You need to find a way to get your husband to start obsessing over the products you like. I feared my husband would find that the Philosophy body washes I buy are $16 each, however, one day he tried one and now he's addicted too and hasn't complained once about how over priced they are.Date: 1/12/2010 3:31:32 PM

I tell small fibs. Like if I have a few packages coming and he starts taking notice I will say 'Oh this one was a free gift for buying that one.' I don't know why I care, its my money. We have our joint account and our seperate accounts so I can buy whatever I want. He just gives me this look that screams 'We are supposed to be saving money.'

Where do you find Bertie''s??? Another HP nerd who would love to try them!
No, I don''t hide purchases from DH. Even at Christmas we designate how much we''re spending so even if I hide the gift itself, he still knows how much it cost.
When I was married I would hide food all the time because he was the food police with me. Not really junk food so much. Even healthy stuff like Amy''s frozen meals. If I ate anything the had one morsel of fat or was in the slightest unhealthy he would be SO judemental. I knew it was a huge huge problem when my daughter (without me realizing it) based on her seeing how he would treat me when he saw me eating something he did not approve of, said to me when I took her out for icecream after dance "Lets not tell daddy because he will get mad you ate that". Ahhh, never again.Date: 1/12/2010 2:55:31 PM

I will never allow that to happen again.
