hi everyone! i posted this this morning, but did not get any responses. Could you give me your opinion?

Found two on line that look quite promising. Problem is that I don''t know which looks better on paper. I really like the F because I wanted to go either G or H! F is a bonus for me and I think it''s just what I''ve been looking for. HOWEVER< the depth and measurements may be a little better on the H. Here are the two: Please give me your thoughts!! :

1.39 VS 1 F

Hi ally,

Was just reading here tonight for a bit. If it would help I''ll be more than happy to photograph the 2 stones alongside each other when I get up to the store tomorrow for ya.

I know those two stones fairly well, don''t I Jonathan?

As a matter of fact, I have pictures of both, but not together.

Ally, they are both great stones. As you know, there is a price difference. So if one meets your budget better than the other, I''d get that one. Or if you prefer colorless, get the F. But I have seen the H stone in person and it is beautiful. I would have bought it had I not gone with a larger stone. But either of these are excellent. It''s really just a matter of your personal preferences as to color and price. (I was gone all day which is why I didn''t see your earlier post). Do you have pictures of either of these? I can maybe find some.

oooh, pics, yes a GREAT idea!

Ally,
Excellent choices again. The depth is just fine on the F. You are talking about a hair''s difference between the two, literally. (Wikipedia: width of human hair 0.017 to 0.18 mm). Either one should go great with your setting(?) (G/VS1). What''s the special occasion? Something good I hope.

I feel like I really like the F stone. I cannot explain it, but it''s just that the F is a little white/brighter than the GVS2s that are in my setting. My issue now is that I''m fearful that the stone may be damaged when the jeweler is setting it.

I have found a different jeweler that will set a stone for me that I''ve purchased elsewhere. Problem is , I have to ask if they have insurance to cover any damage while setting or perhaps I should just take out my own??? I feel badly about letting down the other jeweler that went far and beyond , but the search for a diamond shouldn''t take more than a month, should it??? I''d love to see photos side by side rhino...(I assume you are one of the people I''ve been in contact with at GOG!???
\
DS--any help/photos would be great too!!! (did you pick your setting yet??)

Have you asked GOG if it would be possible for you to send the setting to them, and have them set the stone???

Okay, I''ll look for the pictures. No, I am hopeless on the settings! I found a couple more today but there is a problem with both of them. I may just set it in a plain solitaire for awhile just to be able to wear it!

Here''s the 1.37 H on the right

This is the 1.39F on the left, but the other stone is a 1.35H that is already sold. So the second stone is not the 1.37H. I labelled the picture wrong.

DS--

Okay, so I don''t catch on too quickly! My apologies to RHINO, I had no idea that he worked at GOG and that that was who Jonathon was!

Anyway, you saw both of the stones that I am talking about? I thought you just ordered the two , the one that you bought and the 1.37. How''d you get a photo of the 1.39?

Rhino is supposed to send me pics when he gets to the store today. I''m confused. One time I talked to Charles, but then went right back to Tim. Funny, I never had encountered Jonathon. Oh well, I''m glad that I did, because I can''t wait to see the photos!

I still feel badly about switching jewelers, but the other jeweler is willing to work with me a bit more and they are closer and more convenient to get to! NOW, when the original jeweler comes back from vacation I have to find a nice way to tell them. ....any thoughts?

Ally, I was considering the 1.39 and had all the info on it including pictures. But when it came time to order stones to look at, I had to narrow it down to two (since I had to pay for them!). The F stone was close in price to the 1.63 H that I eventually bought, so I just ordered the 1.63H and the 1.37H to look at. I ended up choosing the larger size. If I had wanted to stay in the 1.4 range, then I would have ordered both the F stone and the H 1.37. I think it would have been a hard choice, but you just have to weigh color and price on those two to see what you prefer.

Hi ally,

NO NEED for apologies whatsoever.

Tim and Charles work for me so if one is on the phone we''ll have the other (or myself or one of my other assistants) help on the phones. As I went to pull these 2 stones today to photograph I had learned we sold the 1.37ct H VVS so I pulled out another diamond with a comparable mm diameter. In the attached photo below is the 1.39ct F color on the right. As I view these side by side the difference is as whatmeworry described ... a hairs breadth. The pic is slightly blown up to actual size so the difference is even less obvious.

On another note. Please understand we don''t seek to draw people away from other jewelers or internet sites. If you are happy with whom you are doing business with and satisfied with the service you are getting we encourage you to continue down that route. If you find yourself running into brick walls/dead ends, sure we appreciate your consideration but I know as a bricks and clicks retailer that there is value to being able to see things locally. If you want to give them more time I totally understand so do what your heart tells you is right. We are here if you need us allly.

Kind regards,
