In the knowledge section it stated that any stone with a color below I shouldn''t be set on a platinum ring because it will make the stone look yellow. Is there a risk that a H color stone will look yellow as well? Is it safer to set it on white gold? My preference from reading the forum and knowldge sections would be platinum.

thanks in advance!

Ehhh, that''s outdated..

How big of a stone are we talking, exactly...2.5-3 cts?

I personally woudln''t worry and you are fine with white metal.

white metal should be fine.

Try a search for H colored stones in white metal. Especially if your diamond is ideal cut, an H will look very white!

I have a hearts and arrows ideal J stone in white gold, and while you can see the warmth, it doesn''t look yellow at all. I''m sure an H will look spectacular.

My J is set in platinum and doesn''t look yellow...

Thanks all. Platinum it is

Mine too. You''d be surprised, most of the H, I, and J colored diamonds face up pretty white. It''s usually when you either look at it from the side or bottom or compare it to a higher color grade that you notice the yellow. And even that is only true sometimes.

I agree with the rest and I will look beautiful and not yellow at all

Here is my H/I colored diamond in a white gold setting, against a white flower. As you can see, it''s fairly white..no yellow.
