Although the certified H+A stone looks gorgeous, has a Megascope Cert showing Excellent for Brilliance+Fire and Ideal for Scint, it scored a disappointig 3.5 on the HCA.
Any comments?
Here''re the stats:

RB .97CT
D
VS1
6.36 x 6.35 x 3.94
Depth 61.9%
Table 56.5%
Girdle Sl thick
Crown angle 35
Pav angle 41.2
culet .1%

What do you mean by Hearts and Arrows certified? certified by....who said it is hearts and arrows and how did he decide that it was?

also I believe it is scoring low on the HCA because of the higher pavilion and crown angle. However, it may not be a problem. It could be, but it might not be. Maybe someone else can explain it better though.

also, since the HCA doesn't give an ideal rating, but has Very good and excellent, wouldn't it make sense that the HCA would yield a Very Good, for many of your excellents (maybe there is some overlap though?), and an excellent for your Ideal, meaning if that were true, which it certainly might not be, then in this case it is possible that

Meagascope Excellent-HCA Very good fire

Meagascope Excellent-HCA Very good WL

Meagascope Ideal-HCA Excellent scint

Meagascope Excellent-HCA Very good spread

which would put the HCA inline with your other reports...just using different terminology. Now, that might not be the case, but it is worth checking, as terminology can sometimes be very misleading.

Does anybody know what the Megascope-assessment is based upon?

A very basic 1st generation ray tracing software package Paul.
Sadly, as you well know, most industry adopted grading methodologies are designed to sell not discern.

Well that''s the most I''ve ever seen described about it, and I''ve looked! Thanks Garry.
