Hello all,
This is my first post as I have just joined the forum. But I have been lurking around on here for hours everyday for the past 3 weeks or so. Its funny how when my brother was shopping for an E-Ring I teased him for spending so much time researching it...but now thanks to you all I have a new addiction myself!

Anyways I am planning on proposing sometime early next month so its about time to start making my final decisions on my ring.

First thing I wanted to get everyones opinon on was the stone.

The two companies that I was planning on working with due to customer service that I have experianced, along with my brothers, and due to the recommendations of those right here are Good Old Gold (stone) and WhiteFlash (Setting).

I wanted to order a Solasfera to consider it also but none were the correct size/color/price I wanted.

The diamond I researved is a .81 G SI RB H&A
http://goodoldgold.com/diamond/3762/

This diamond stood out to me more than the others due to the performance on the brilliant scope. Also Johnathan assured me that the stone is 110% eye clean.
But I wanted everyones opinon and recommendations on the stone. I guess what im wondering is there another stone with similar specs that is a better choice? What matters most is not being able to brag about an E color or flawless stone but instead haveing the most sparkle and fire in my FI's diamond.

Another choice is this stone from WhiteFlash

Its actually like $350 dollars cheaper, I imagine due to color, but which diamond/company has the better quality cut stones?
Or are all AGS0 stones the same?

Thank you all in advance,
Salvador

P.S. heres the setting

except i will be ordering the half round version not the knife ege.

Welcome!

I think you could pick either diamond and be thrilled! Both companies have an excellent rep here for providing cream of the crop diamonds, and customer service, so it depends on whether you want the G SI or the branded ACA and an H colour. For your main objective which is to give your GF the best performing, most sparkly and lively diamond, either would do so. Once you get to 2 diamonds of this calibre cut, it has to go by preference rather than super scrutinizing each cut. Some here would have their preferences as to which they would pick, but it really is up to you whether you want the better colour, which company you prefer, or a branded ACA from WF. Not all AGS0 diamonds are the same, but I just wanted to say you picked 2 winners!

Thanks lorelei for your quick response. I would really like to get the diamond from whiteflash so that I can deal with just one company, but I really like being able to see all the information about the diamond that GOG gives. Also the light report on this particular diamond stood out to me. So since I have already fallen for this one in particular I will probably just go with it.

Thanks
Salvador

Hi Salvador,

I''ve been trying since early this morning to look at the GOG stone, but I simply can''t get the website to come up.

At any rate, here''s my thoughts.

1. I trust Lorelei''s judgement, so if she says it''s great, it is.

2. I can assure you the stone from WF will be just as nice. They are very strict with their brand, so no worries there.

If it would make it easier on you to do the WF stone, I''d say you would not be compromising in the least.

Either way, you''ve got a great stone!
