OH. Forgot one fairly major thing--you know how for ages now (close to two years), James has been ready to get married but I haven''t? I''ve wanted us to live together in the ''real'' world (as opposed to the visits we had when we were long-distance). Well, we''ve lived together for six months now and the tiny little doubts that I had are gone and I am fully ready to get engaged/married now.

Gwen, this is wonderful news!! He must be a wonderful guy, he didn''t take long at all to convince you that you two were ready to be married

GWEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!My dear this is WONDERFUL news!!!!! I am so so so so happy for you!!!! Between graduating AND being ready to get engaged, everything is just moving right along. I''m just ecstatic for you!!!!! You''re going to have to keep us updated and post as soon as it happens!!!!!


I have missed you, it seems like a whole different world over in LIW at the moment, and even though it was only a little over two months ago that I *graduated*, it feels so different.


As for wedding stuff, it''s all planned, the deposit is down, I''m wearing a silver Badgley Mischka gown that musey found for me a year ago (found it on Blue Fly last month!), I have two pairs of shoes, all kinds of accessories, an really I just have to fill out some forms, send them to Mandalay Bay and figure out where to have our reception, and then next January, we''ll get married! Yay! It''s been really stress free for the most part, although I''ve just been whiny in general lately. It''s been an icky last few months.


Oh! In other news I''m going to get my ering stone reset, and then set my other stone in my original setting. We''re going to see the jeweler tomorrow! (Unless I can convince him to go today, which is not looking likely.)


OMG, I just SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited for you!!!! (And here is a little *party in a picture* just for you and for graduating!!!!)

It is really nice to be ready to move to the next level. I am wondering if he and I might get married next April...my residency here expires in August and I''ll have two paid weeks off from work for Easter and instead of us going back home for a visit, we could ask some people to come to us for a small ceremony and celebratory BBQ or something at James'' parents'' place. I know we have a lot of expensive paperwork to get done before we could do that, but if we don''t spend much on the wedding itself, it''s probably doable... Whaddya think?

I''ve noticed a slight difference in the LIW forum as well, although I thought it may have just been in my head. I guess it''s probably to be expected, since people do ''graduate'' from it and those regulars are replaced by new regulars, but it is a bit sad. Ah well, what can you do? At some point, I''ll be over in BWW with you anyway, so whatev.

So so SO excited for you that you''re basically done planning (I am not looking forward to that bit, even for a small thing!), and REALLY excited that you got the silver Badg!!! Are there any pictures of your lovely self in it yet? Can''t wait to see you in it--you are going to look like an absolute goddess!!

I''m also really excited for you that you''re going to the jeweler today about resetting your gorgeous blue e-bling! What sort of setting will its forever-home be? Do you have a link or anything to get an idea? Yay! You going to sneak a camera in and take photos of all the pretties for us?

Oh, and thanks for my grad party pic!! It feels so so good to really and truly be DONE with grad school!!!

Of course I''m just a tiiiiny bit biased

but yeah, he is pretty wonderful. Before we moved in together, I was 99% sure we would work out, mostly since we have so much fun together and had already weathered quite a few challenges, but I wanted to get through the mundane stuff like paying bills and doing chores before saying I was 100% ready. And now we have, so now I am!

The reset will be custom, and they are going to have to build a ring from scratch because I''m complicated. There is a pic of the pieces I want to use on page 5 of my SMTR thread that I bumped yesterday.

Thanks, honey! I am really excited--this will only be his second time in the US with my friends and family. Hopefully it''ll be more relaxed than last time, when I dragged him all over creation introducing him to everyone.
