Please help me find the right diamond

7k-8k diamond budget

Hoping to get in the 1.5 ct range

Modern Cushion

More circular than rectangle shaped (novice)

Cut: Excellent- Very good
Color: H-I

Can you guys help me find one that wont look like shatter glass ?

p.s - it will be going into either a halo or a split shank setting (haven't decided yet)

Thanks guys!!

what did JA say?

Based on the ASET, looks like it should have good light performance, plus, JA gives you 60 days with it.

I would note that it is an especially deep stone (70%+), whereas I've been advised to stay in the 62-65 range for cushions. I, too, am shopping for a cushion in the 2.2-2.8 range.

Buy it and see what you think when it comes in!!

Thank you for your patience while waiting for the ASET image of diamond 1363209. You'll find the requested ASET image attached to this email for your review. We've had one of our graduate gemologists inspect this diamond and I'm happy to say that this diamond has nice light performance and faces perfectly eye clean. Additionally, the gemologist favored its wider faceting. As the ASET image shows, there is some light leakage under the diamond's table but it is not offensive or distracting. This diamond is a nice, sparkly option and I believe you'll be pleased when you see it for yourself.

Please take a moment to review this information and let me know if you have any additional questions. I have extended your hold on this diamond for an additional 24 hours while you consider your options. After that time we will release it back to our inventory.

To finalize a purchase, simply call our Customer Service department at 877-826-9866. We are now staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any additional questions. I hope to hear from you soon.

Best Regards,

the I SI1 that they recommended looks interesting too, I would request an evaluation of that one. Also ask about the older report.

One bit of advice..you really need to look at the diameter measurements of these stones because they can vary a great deal due to different depths, etc.

Just to give you some approximations:

I VS1 6.6 X 6.4 mm

H SI2 7.0 x 6.4 mm (doubt this one is eyeclean)

I SI1 7.3 x 6.88 mm

I VVS2 6.7 x 6.5 mm

As you see, they vary a lot. I'd want to go with a well cut stone first of all, and then maximize the size. That first stone had a nice cut, but it is the smallest of the 4. I am really not loving any of these, to be honest. I wouldn't rush and get something that you don't think is a great stone.

That aset looks pretty good to me.

No on the first stone listed above. Dont know what to say about the second stone listed above. I kind
of like it but would need to see and aset to check on leakage.

And a big NO on this one that you posted earlier.

That one SLG posted looks like it may be nice...request aset if interested.
Edit - I just noticed that is the aset you have and I think it looks pretty good. I would request an aset on this one

I am trying to decided between the one u just posted ( i already requested the ASET) and the very first posted with ASET

The I SI1 is considerably larger than the first one. It would help if James Allen's pictures were better because it is hard to tell what some of the black marks are. I'd ask about the feathers on the I SI1. They are plotted on the bottom diagram and I would want to know if it is eyeclean from the side. It won't matter as much if it goes in a halo, though.

(This is what JA sent me regarding the SI1)

My name is Jane and I am a customer service representative with JamesAllen.com. I wanted to take this opportunity to follow up with you regarding the Lab report for diamond 1425872. This is a lovely 1.50 Carat I-SI1 Cut Cushion Diamond which we currently have on hold for you. Here is a link to the Lab report in case you did not receive a copy.

This is a gorgeous cushion brilliant cut diamond, graded by GIA the most respected laboratory in the world. Under magnification, there would be slightly visible inclusions in this beautiful, near colorless cushion diamond. However, after reviewing the image of this stone, it looks eye clean. As an Ideal Cut, this stone has angels within the recommended range; it is going to offer an amazing sparkle and a brilliant light return.

If you are looking for a popular, unique and fancy cut diamond that has been around for more than a century, one of the more interesting diamond cuts that are available is the cushion cut diamond. Are you looking for a setting as well? If so, how soon do you need this ring? We have many beautiful settings in platinum, white, and yellow gold. I will be pleased to help find the perfect one.

Please feel free to contact me, or any of our customer service representatives, for any further assistance with this request. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you finalize your purchase once you have made your decision. Thank you for choosing JamesAllen.com. Have a wonderful day.
