Guys I really need Diamond help...

I have the setting dont have any pictures yet will though soon. Im planning on Propsing in about 4 weeks our 9yr anniversery!!! We are going away and i figured that it would be a perfect time to do so. Now im stuck with the center stone problem ive been looking at stones and was really banking on a 1.50 cart thinking it wasnt a big deal and seemed to be the average of what brides get these days...
Well after looking at some beautful round diamonds this one happened to be a 1.21 G VS2 for $8199. i dont have the other specs

Now my overall budget was $10,000 b/t setting and stone setting was $1500.00 so with $8,500 left over this 1.21 fell in my buget range.

Problem is i really want the 1.50 reasons being for one its BIGGER lol
but the setting has small diamonds around the entire band sought of like the Tiffany "Novo" if you will. Any way i figured im now going to need a decent size center stone so it stands out amoung the others wouldnt u agree?

Now to get this 1.50 it looks like i rasied my budget for the center from $8,500 to $9500 - $10,000 holy cow rings are alot haha

But my main concern is going up to the 1.50 i know im prob not going to be able to reamin at a G VS2 that the 1.21 was
So if was to drop to an H or I and a Si1 for the 1.50 is that worth it????
Will it still shine and look nice or will you be able to tell that ive down garded the quality for size???
This is my main concern but would love for my baby to have the 1.50 she deserves.
Any ideas comments suggestings would be great I live in NY an actually have an appointmnet with GOG on saturday i need this ring done by October 15 !!!!

If you have an appt with GOG I suggest not stressing out about it. They are a great vendor and will be sure to show you many stones in your range and help you pick the one that works best for you.

First of all, 1.21 is a nice size! There are many factors to consider here. Has your gf expressed an explicit desire for a certain range of color? A well cut diamond in the warmer colors can be a beautiful thing--you may fall in love with a J or K! It really is all about the cut. A little florescence might help, too. A well cut diamond will appear larger than it''s less well cut counterpart of the same weight. Let your eyes guide you. I would suggest looking without knowing the color right away, to see what appeals to you.
You could always trade up at an anniversary in the future.
I wouldn''t worry about the center being drowned out by the setting. The diamonds will just play off one another for a great overall look.

Ya im going to GOG thursday at 12noon. the setting i have i thought was a good deal its platinum with diamonds around the entire band, got it for $1500.00
I want to say its similar but i think nicer than the Tiffany Novo setting but im going for a round rock rather than a cushion. Just trying to discribe it too you guys i think it will looks so nice with a nice center stone.

i agree with what you said let my eyes gudie me. My GF hasnt nor does know anything about color carlity and all the other think shes more concern about cart.
Though its for her i look at it that its for me too.
I know the 1.21 isnt a bad size but im a around # guy and 1.50 sounds so much better especially when shes asked or even for our self. 1.50 just seems to flow say it with be 1.50 hahaha
If i find my eye attracted to a 1.50 that isnt a G or whatever and just gives that WOW im looking for id be happy. Like i said my GF isnt all about " me" and stuff but this is a 1 time purchase and i dont want to cut any corners plus she deserves it shes the BEST!

Well then, just go to GOG and keep an open mind. You never know what you''ll walk out with--maybe something an entirely different shape, color, size, or even clarity than you thought you would get. It''s all very exciting.
