I am a novice to diamond purchase but I need to get a ring for my wife on our 10th anniversary.

I had posted details for 1 ring yesterday and got great feedback from Guru''s. I looked at one more ring today and will have to finalize between below 2 rings.

So I need expert advice from Guru''s before I pull the final plug. I will appreciate if you can advice soon as I need to make decision soon.

Questions
1. Which ring shall I buy.
2. Does table size 63% to 60% makes a lot of difference
3. Would there be lot of size difference between 2.06 ct or 1.74 ct on size 4 ring.

Please advice.

Have you seen the stones?

Stone size difference should be noted on the report. The diameter of the stone in mm.

What matters to you more? A over 2c bragging right but easily seen fish-eye that mars the beauty of the stone or a 1.75c well cut stone?

1. Well *not* the first one! Have you seen the second in person?
2. Yes. Larger table is usually not as desirable and affects optics.
3. Not usually. If side by side you would see the difference but probably not on the hand. Both would look huge.

I wouldn't buy the first diamond at any price, it will show a fish eye which is literally a nasty fish eyed effect seen right on top of the diamond, plus as I pointed out in an earlier thread it won't look like 2 carats anyway as the diameter or spread is small for the weight.

If you want to buy an EGL graded diamond, make any sale final on it checking out with an independant appraisal, here is a tool you can use to find an appraiser in your area.
